Pretty young for the most part. Only 1 SR. Does KT2 find his way back to being a starter? Safties to me are a question mark. I bet we will see a lot of rotation in there. I really hope Fulton or Saivion steps up and becomes a lock down corner this off season.

We will have:

KT2
Ed Paris
Saivion Smith
Xavier Lewis
Andraez Williams
Eric Monroe
Cameron Lewis
Kristian Fulton
Donte Jackson
John Battle

Recruits most likely to be here:
Jacoby Stevens
Grant Delpit
Kary Vincent
Todd Harris (maybe)

======================================

CB1: Donte Jackson
CB2: KT2/Ed Paris
Nickel: Kristian Fulton/Saivion Smitih
SS: Eric Monroe/Cameron Lewis/Ed Paris
FS: John Battle/Xavier Lewis

Either Fulton or Smith should be on the outside with Jackson playing nickel. I like Jackson, but he's not not a boundary corner.

Kary Vincent is a highly ranked CB who is committed to us.

It looks like we got to redshirt at least 3 and maybe 4 of the 5 DBs we brought in last year?

Greedy
Monroe
Lewis

Maybe a medical for Fulton?

Or did Lewis play special teams? Either way, that's unreal.

I don't think eric Monroe can play big safety spots

At least not at the same time.

Donte has not been anywhere as good as I thought he would be.

Paris and Savion need to make a large jump to develop into the expectations for them as well.

Next year could be a prep year for 2018 from a DB perspective, especially with the loss of Adams, who has been superb.

KTII has been weak, Jackson is the worst CB to play at LSU in about 7 years, and John battle is slightly above average.... that's our experienced secondary, everyone else is new or rarely plays.

You clearly don't know anything about good secondary players.

And to answer the question:

CB1: Donte Jackson/Kristian Fulton
CB2: KT2/Ed Paris
Nickel: Saivion Smith/ Greedy Williams
SS: Eric Monroe/Jacoby Stevens/Cameron Lewis
FS: John Battle/Xavier Lewis/Grant Delpit

That's as talented a secondary as you'll see in CFB

KT would be great if he would turn his damn head around. Can't tell you how many times he's been beat on those back shoulder plays, and every run play he gets run off 30 yards away from the play before he realizes it's a run.

Donte has had a ton of bright spots, as well as a few weak spots. You are crazy if you think he's that bad. Another year of experience will hopefully help him fix his weaknesses.

John Battle is a good player. Not gonna wow you, but does alot of things right. He will be solid as a free safety next year.

Ed Paris has looked pretty average when he's gotten on the feild. Not terrible, but not the DB we typically have here at DBU.

Other than that, nobody has really played a ton. Saivion looked good in spring, but terrible against A&M. Xavier Lewis didn't look great playing safety against A&M either. I think he's better suited at corner.

Interested to see if any of the freshman, along with Fulton, Monroe, and Lewis will play next year.

Agreed, while the list of returning/new players is looong on talent and potential, it is VERY short on SEC game experience. We NEED Tolliver to come back strong, Jackson to improve, and Battle to be the CAPT back there.

My take:
Starting CBs (went with nickel set): Tolliver, Fulton or S. Smith, and Jackson
Starting S's: Battle & Monroe (believe Paris will move to S)

Not a bad group, but they must improve their techniques, and the early games will be vital to work out coverages, adjustments, etc.
