Corruption loved silence and passivity.

Why are the powers that be at LSU so afraid to shake things up and effect some change in the system?

L stands for Laughingstock.

...it also stands for Larry. Moe repeatedly eye gouges Larry, who takes it with silence and passivity.

I honestly think the bigger wrong is how fans are so dismissive about this.

LSU made a lot of bad plays, but so did Bama. And bad plays don't excuse away the clear and obvious bias of the calls made, magnified by the fact that this has happened so many times now.

The last several minutes of the game, the calls, non-calls and failures to even review plays is beyond ludicrous.

I have to agree with you, but seriously doubt the LSU individuals in power will make any attempt to address the issues.

With all due respect, it isn't a conspiracy. Nothing is discussed in advance. It is a mindset. It has been going on for years. There is an unspoken bias toward Alabama for a number of reasons. First is the old time love/fear of Bryant. The second of course is the location of the SEC offices. The third is the promotion of Alabama alumni into power positions in the SEC. It is just understood that when the game is on the line, the call will benefit Alabama. Nothing has to be said. It's just the "done thing".

I know they may have limited options, but seems like they have a duty to try.

I could understand that if it was one or two instances, but in this game it was a series of several issues, many blatant.

It happens every single year. Not just to us. Ask Ole Miss. I guarantee you there will be one or two blatant calls favoring the tide this Saturday.

Why in the frick no one has done investigative journalism to expose this to the rest of the country is mind boggling. It's not even going to require much investigation.

Assigning a Bama alum to officiate a game of this magnitude is just inconceivable... they just don't care... as long as they can insure a Bama win. They throw it right up in your face.

Up to this point, I have not been a subscriber to the conspiracy theory.

But now...

Great post

Whiney fAns and deceptatigers blame the players and miles for the loss

But the loss was caused by the refs and only the refs

No matter how perfectly LSU played at the end it wouldn't matter
The fix was already in and most fans refuse to see it bc it would bring into question SEC fiitball

Refs picked up two flags to Bama's advantage. Refused to call PI. Refused to review. Inexcusable unsportsmanlike call in the red zone. fricking unbelievable.

Obtuse much?
Do you really think it's just a "school extra curricular activity" to hundreds of thousands of people? How much time and money does the average fan devote to this "school extra curricular activity"?

Nobody wants to rock the boat. They all get to schmooze in the suites and play golf together at the Destin meetings, It's a clubby little group, and they don't give a shite what the fans think, as long as the money keeps rolling in.

I have believed since 2006 that the SEC will do whatever it takes to protect who they view as the top team or create top matchups (tv revenue). They also want a national championship at all costs.

I remember it was auburn early in 06 and later it was apparent they were not the team to do it (we had already played them) so the sec moved on to Florida (then we get screwed in that game).

I don't think it's necessarily always bama. But like it or not if they are a good team the subconscious bias of the sec employees all residing in Birmingham will make it them. Also the media hype they get on is on a mid 2000 USC level, they have the top coach and get the top players every year. I believe the sec wants money and NCs, and lsu wasn't the team to bring that this season. Why give lsu the benefit of the doubt last weekend and hurt "our chances" is their mindset.

Remember all the close calls for both bama and UF in 09. The sec office wanted a 1v2 matchup in SECCG no doubt. It doesn't take much to change a game at all. Imagine if just one if those last passes last week were called interference? No one would argue they weren't, but since they weren't everyone says we whine too much. Same for PI on Alexander

You think the SEC network and the 20+ million it brings to each school exists today without that BCS run?
It's too easy to control. And too much money to be made through control, how could it not happen

Anyone think cbs wanted to lose millions on the bama MSU game next week for the sake of lsu ark lol? They got exactly what they wanted, an OT game and bama W, and now they can do it all over again and hype up two top 5 teams that control their own destiny this week

I agree with everything you said, especially that, while Bama may not be "the team" every year, they certainly get the presumption.

On one hand, they can only do so much with a blowout but if it's a close game, like this past Saturday, they can effect a lot. The scary thing is when you see them making or not making many obvious bad calls in a short time - it's like they don't care how obvious it looks. The last several minutes of the game was like that.
