Let me start out by saying, we have other issues to solve with the Wasting money and Over spending ..we need responsible spending on campus educational buildings and some programs, I agree ..

But Tiger Stadium Needs Help Bad .. and it is the Face of LSU on Many Many occasions.. It would be nice to give it a Face lift in the next 5 or so years. Time for TAF to look at Tiger Stadium Again.

Too bad Tiger Stadium has been Butchered By BAD designs on the updates. Really it's a Frankenstein now .. the Original Frame was Awesome.. without the 2 UGLY upper Deck designs and the new South Stadium expansion could have been done better in my opinion.

And I do realize Tiger Stadium needed to be Expanded , But My goodness Do It Right and they Struckout 3 Times in a row since the pic above..

Just Sayin...

The exterior has been cleaned and redone in the past couple years. There was a thing going on for fans to buy new paned windows but they have all been replaced as well. They look great. No more broken windows and stuff.

The new gates look great as well as the accent lighting inside the stadium. The south end zone enclosure looks great to me.

Most of the trees stayed, which I like.

It's better than just a stadium with parking lots around it and no trees.

PVC pipe. Get rid of that and I'm good.

The East could use some work, The west needs a face lift down the line to better fit in with the design of the stadium...I like that they tried to include the arches in the design of the South Upper and I like it.

I see what you mean. The east side doesn't get a lot of tv exposure, probably because it faces the journalism building.

There sure can be little tweaks but overall I like the look.

Completely agree. Looks more uniform to the entire stadium. I like it.

Imagine if the Rant was around when the South endzone was bowled in. It didn't match the rest of the stadium, inside or out. The current South facade is a huge upgrade.

The thread today with the painting was a reminder that the focal point of the West side used to be an escalator and ramps.

I don't think there's any argument that the north side is looking great these days since the restoration.

That looks like a game from the late 50s or 60s from the looks of the cars.
Must gave been a very big game, there are cars parked everywhere, and it looks like there were no empty seats.
And it was a DAY game.
When did we play with those end zones?

Late '50s, probably a Tulane game. Look carefully in the upper right corner. I count at least 13 passenger cars of a special train from New Orleans parked on the now long gone railroad siding. And check out the gridiron (practice field?) inside the track stadium.

The south end zone addition that was added in 1953 was a travesty as far as the exterior look goes. No argument there.

That being said, I honestly wish the north end zone seating could be reconfigured to match that of the south end zone.

The fans in the south end zone are closer to the field, and have better sight lines.

It's not as bad as you make it out to be, honestly. While I'd love to have a coherent, cohesive look all around the stadium, the function is the most important part.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Tiger Stadium is the best stadium in the country to watch a game in. The best combination of total capacity, great sight lines, amount of exits in the stands, proximity to restrooms and concessions, amount of chair back seating, and premium seating overall there is. Bar none.

Can it be better? Sure. The biggest immediate upgrade would be to redo the concourses, while adding more restrooms.

I would like to know when they originally closed in the south end zone why was it not built to match the north end zone. There must have been a reason they wanted to limit the access to the lower bowl only via the internal ramps. North end zone gives you more options for exiting the stadium with that design.

I have no idea if it's true or not, but a friend once told me we took Alabama's exact end zone seating plan blue prints to save money. Same design, capacity, etc. Again, could just be an urban legend (kinda sounds like it might be)

ETA: After looking at pictures of Bryant-Denny there's no way in hell that's true unless they renovated their stadium since then.

I remember the Tiger Stadium from that picture. The most amazing thing was that it was filled with dormitory rooms on every side. That concept was unique even at that time.

Not enough room. If they were to match the north enzone, they would have to move south stadium drive.

I'm not talking about changing the outside. Just reworking the seating on the inside.

And yes, I realize it'll never happen. It's just a dream.

You're insane. The recent south end expansion FIXED a major problem. Did you see what the south end looked like before the expansion? It was an eyesore. Now, it is much more in keeping with the original designs. The east and west upper decks? Yes, I agree they are horrible. That's where the mistakes were made, not the south end.

I really do not have a problem with Tiger Stadium at all. It is a great venue.

Our fan base has to be the largest group of whiners and complainers on the planet.

Some don't want our coaches. Some don't want our AD. The PMAC is supposedly terrible. Some don't like ceetain players. Now Tiger Stadium is compared to Frakenstein.

It is friggin' hillarious to read.
