From that Advocate article. WTF
quote:

Quarterback Danny Etling said added time in the film is beneficial for a different reason.

“It might give me more sleep at night, maybe, because I don’t have to prepare as much at night"

let's not have the million plus dollar OC/QB coach have him in a place that he's comfortable. nah, let's let the QB figure that shite out on his own.

Talked Sunday to the high school coach of a player who was in on the last play of the Auburn game. Player I won't name told him there wasn't a play called at all, and that it was all DE. Guess he got something out of studying film alone late at night.

Reading the Advocate article, seems like they will focus more on mental prep and less on physical prep. Four games in... that would be expected.

More film - more to know. I didn't get the impression they NEVER watched film.

But I have no doubt that Miles ran practice schedules and meeting schedules like they did 40 years ago.

Is it surprising though? Miles' teams rarely looked prepared

The context of their comments are a bit vague. I'd imagine they mean that they're going to do even more in-depth film study with the reports that Coach O wants to cut down practice time and focus on more mental preparation.

Whether you believe me or not, I can tell you with 100% certainty the OL and offense watched film and studied tendencies.

Someone mentioned that they were expected to do it on their own time and now they are actually making official time for it. I just enjoy giving you a hard time.

They did it as a team too. You're always welcome to watch more on your own though. Now they'll do it more as a team with the shorter practices. Seems pretty straightforward.

One of the first things that was said by folks in the Athletic department after Miles' arrival was that there was far less attention to detail and organization than the previous regime.

To be fair, you could say that about ANY college football coaching regime not named Saban.

Completely out of context and indicative of how many people didn't read the article.

Article TL:DR - Less practice, more film. More rest for our bodies.

Come on, if you are a girl you had no clue. And I really don't think females should comment on football.

Now we know part of the reason Harris was struggling. Just read Etling's comments. Harris may have been exhausted after practice and didn't want to put in the necessary extra time.

Quarterback Danny Etling said added time in the film is beneficial for a different reason.

“It might give me more sleep at night, maybe, because I don’t have to prepare as much at night,” he said. “I think it will change up the flow of how I’ve been going about it the past four weeks. It’ll be a different thing, but it’s something we've got to adjust to, and we've got to move forward.”

They would have been better off resting cause the coaches sure didn't use tendencies to game plan.

I asked a question last year, and I was dead serious: what does the coaching staff actually do regarding offensive game planning for an opponent?

My fear was that LSU's offensive game planning under Miles/Cam took 5 minutes because we never seemed to try to identify the weakness of an opponent and exploit it.

Looks like I may have been right.

I can tell you for a fact that they watched film and worked on tendencies. The players must be referring to the limited practices and larger focus on mental preparation, but they certainly did that too under Miles.

ETA: if they stopped watching film, which I highly doubt, it was a Grimes thing. Still incredibly unlikely.

Well then our coaches were just the dumbest people on the planet because we literally had the same game plan no matter the fricking opponent.
