The only time I've felt as good as this going into a season was 2007, and unfortunately that great team dropped 2 heartbreaking games, and pulled 3 more out of the fire.

Anything can happen, but you're right, this schedule is very nicely set up.

The key is October. Two road games against lesser teams, but in two extremely hostile environments, one of which is totally unknown to all of our players, against programs with great tradition that are fighting their way back to contention, with a home date against what may be the best team in the East in between.

That is the key. Getting to 8-0.

The chips will fall where they may on November 3rd, the most intense game in the history of Tiger Stadium, and then barring a letdown against MSU the following week, our team will be ready to close it out on the road against Arkansas.

this team will be sick. unfortunately we have a soft schedule (compared to last year) so respek may be a while coming, unless we just ruin shite every week by running up basketball-like scores, but that not really Miles style.

Before its over, this team will be LSUs best ever, and will be in the discussion as one of the top teams to ever take the college field.

Cant wait to stomp USCs dick in the dirt next January. Hopefully they dont trip up on thier way.

This is the fist time in my life that I am confident that the Tigers will go undefeated. In the past I've hoped they could do it, but this is the first time I honestly believe they will do it. And I graduated from LSU in 1977.

It really is a strange feeling. The most confident I've ever been going into a season was 2007, but I still thought we'd drop a game. I mean, I definitely see opportunities where a bad game could really do us in, but I think we'll be a relatively mistake-free team, a multi-threat offense, and the most talented team on the field each week (Bama is on par).

I agree with this post. LSU will have best d Line in the country by a mile. Coupled with damned good d backs and an offense with a chip on their shoulder and we go undefeated and win BCS in a thumping.

Yep. I am usually very reluctant to predict an undefeated season. In fact, I never have. However, this is the year. LSU gonna roll.

but perfect seasons (like the regular season we had last year) are exceedingly rare and difficult to negotiate.

And even harder to repeat.

People need to brace themselves for potentially losing 1 game.

Yeah, I'm being a realist too. I think 14-0 is a damn good possibility, but you will not see me going into complete tard mode like alot on this board will if we lose a game.

I'm prepared to lose an SEC game but as I mentioned before about the d-line, I don't see any way we lose a game unless there's a total meltdown on all 3 phases.

I have been saying this since before the spring game. As long as Miles lets Mett do his thing I don't think LSU gets touched.

As it does every year, that Arkansas game scares the shite out of me. Somehow we always manage to frick that game up (save for last year).

But I think this team, talent-wise, is better than last year. Here's to 14-0!
