Why would you bump this? Yes are still going 14-0 and were on the right track right now by being undefeated

I highly doubt that you are a pro at anything.

because i felt like it after that lackluster performance last night.....i mean no doubt performances have no play in results over the long term right? You are not the least bit concerned? really?
Not too mention maybe, JUST MAYBE I know this poster personally? Maybe a fun jab at him?

Now we are going 13-1

I would like to go back and bump all of the "Mettsiah" threads...and the ones before the season where people were predicting he would throw for 3500 yards and 30 TD's.

Perhaps because the OP has almost done a 180

I'm not ready to slit my wrists quite yet, but the Rant seems populated by a significant plurality (at least of those who are vocal at this time) of people with emotional balance issues.

I am not that deep into football that I would consider slitting my wrists, but my expectations have certainly dropped off. I was hoping that the poor offensive showing against Auburn was because it was a road game and Auburn always plays us tough. Then I was hoping that the poor offensive showing against Towson was because we were looking ahead to Florida. But it has become an alarming trend that we squander away scoring opportunities with regularity. I'm still hopeful for a successful season, and it has to start Sat. night!!

What about being @ Florida and they always play us tough? (And Florida is a much better football team than Auburn is right now...)
I hate to keep harping on this but we lost to Florida in 2003, 19-7 - and it wasn't even, really, that close.

well back when he started the thread, Tyrann was still on the team, and the academic suspensions and injuries hadn't hit. we were all optimistic.
then came the FB pick play on 3rd and long...

At some point if we are going to make a move, we will have to show some kind of offensive pulse. 3 games in a row playing offense like that isn't an anomaly, it is a trend. If the defense gives us the ball on the five fricking yard, we need to score a TD.
Not saying that we are dead in the water, but we are running out of wiggle room quickly.

Lost your Heisman Finalist
Lost 4-5 players due to Academics
Lost your starting LT
Lost your starting RB
Lost your faith in QB
Yeah its a 180 alright.
We were starting a future 1st round pick at LT, a former Top 5 player in America at LG, a 3 year starter at Center, a 2 year starter at RG & a repeat starter from last year at RT.
At one point Saturday, we had a RT playing LT, the same RG we started the year with, a RS Frosh Center, a RS Frosh Right Guard, and a True Freshman Right Tackle.
Would you say our situation has made a 180, or that I have made one?
LOL

While I don't necessarily disagree with any of this sentiment, the assumption seems to be that because things haven't gotten better (CLEARLY the staff has tried various, different things), they CANNOT get better and I simply cannot subscribe to that.

Honest, genuine question here: Tell me more about what they have tried.

When was the last time you remember 3 straight plays in the shotgun, unless it was a 2-minute warning situation?
The fullback carries this year? (And they were effective early...)
The one receiver pattern on a touchdown to OBJ (to provide maximum protection)?
We trying to pass alot, at least early. We called 29 passes versus 25 runs against Florida. When is the last game under Miles when that happened?
I didn't say it all worked, but new wrinkles have clearly been inserted, especially in the passing game. I'm a Miles defender as well as a positiger, generally. I'm not an idiot and there are clearly fundamental problems which require work - receivers allowing passes to hit them in the hands is not new - that plagued both Lee and Jefferson for 4 years. Personal fouls (although 1 was a complete BS flop that got called against, I think Muncie, @ Florida) can be coached and are, relatively speaking, avoidable (I'm not talking about the ticky-tack stuff on the sidelines that always seem to get called on us, but rarely on the other team, but the senseless late hits, jawjacking, excessive celebration, etc.)
I'm not going to say everything is sunshine and rainbows, but the reversals by many (including yourself) as well as the return of the irrational, anti-Miles, agenda-having negatigers (and I'm not accusing you of being in that number), is unwarranted, or at the very least, premature.
It is one football game right now. We've lost football games before and, SHOCKING NEWS ALERT, LSU will lose more football games in the future, regardless of the coach.
