He's reactive instead of proactive or instinctive. On that run he moved with the runner to his left, unfortunately it left a huge hole and the guy cut back and burned the defense.. I think Beckwith is ready to take over.

And DJ waived at him as he ran past. I just don't see how Beckwith could do any worse.

Welter should not start. He is just over matched and can't keep up. I like the guy, but, he is a hole on D

Give him a clipboard and let him help get things set from the sidelines. No range, bad instincts and short arms. No thanks

Welter isnt terrible but when he makes mistakes they are usually big big ones, like the NMS TD last night or the Dak super long TD in the State game. Cant mess up when you're the only defender b/t the endzone in the middle.

This is nearly the dumbest shite I've ever read in my life. Do you watch & understand the game of football?

Especially when he takes himself out of the play entirely when he lines up on the line on the right side like he doesn't want anything to do with making a tackle. At least that is what it looks like. Everybody on the line on D and the QB has only to split 2 defenders.

Welter made a huge play falling on a loose fumble, will play every snap vs. AU

a receverd fumble is the classic Welter play. He doesn't really make the initial play he just is sorta there at the end. He gets 45% of his tackle be just sorta showing up as someone else tackles the guy and is already taking him down.

So just being there and a ball bouncing up to him is a perfect opportunity for him to shine. Just falling down on something is his sweet spot.

Try 80%. He has 25 total tackles this season, which ties for third most on the team, with five solo stops. So, 20 of his tackles are assisted...

I am not trying to bash him with that either. I think Beckwith looks better out there, but Welter is a serviceable player and can contribute as a back up.

If its even a 50/50 split, Auburn will rush for over 300yards, easy.

Welter should never see the field, except on special teams. His play hurts us that much.

I am willing to say that probably some of his assisted tackles he actually was involved in a group tackle where he made a real contribution.

But yeah he plays twice as much as Beckwith and has only 5 more tackles, and less solo tackles.

Oh, ok. I misunderstood what you were trying to say there then.
