I'm sure he will start but I'm curious how much Beckwith will see the field vs Auburn. I really hope the coaching staff plays him a lot this game. He makes the defense much better

Auburn will bitch slap us with the QB run up the middle after watching the Weltersaurs's tendency of leaving gaping holes by voiding his lane/gap.

Welter made a huge play falling on a loose fumble, will play every snap vs. AU

Well, we can also look at it this way. When #31 is in the game, we should know where they will be going, and can plan accordingly hopefully. ha

Watch the replay of the 79 yard TD. That was the epitome of Welter.

He's reactive instead of proactive or instinctive. On that run he moved with the runner to his left, unfortunately it left a huge hole and the guy cut back and burned the defense.. I think Beckwith is ready to take over.

On 79 yard touchdown. Instead of filling the huge hole, he ran on other side of blocker

HE ran into a huge pile of people where he would have been completely ineffective anyways even if the RB had the ball

Agreed, and I honestly believe Welter has to realize that despite his heart, he just doesn't have the overall ability to get it done.

As a Miles guy, I believe Miles has always done what HE thought was best to help LSU win. However, if he fails to make these two moves that are obvious, and LSU spirals down....I'm honestly not sure he can survive the year...despite his accomplishments at LSU.

assisted tackles can't rack up if you don't go jump in the pile.

All these people getting on chief for starting welter over and over have never held state to under 600 yards of offense. Chief for life

yep - cuz the ball landed right in front of him. I was momentarily excited once when I saw him actually fill a hole and stand up the running back. I then realized the this was due to the back's doing since he couldn't cut in time, ran straight into Welter, and was much smaller. With a decent SEC type back, it would probably have been the normal 5 yard ride down the field.
