Why didn't Joe just say this? This is not a Joe bashing thread by any means--Is actually think he's done a pretty good job during his tenure--but why did he unnecessarily paint himself into this corner? There may very well be a viable and reasonable outcome--I've seen a few posted here--that has us going to Gainesville on 11/19. And we may be forced with a decision of either taking it and making Joe look weak or being the only school declining it and looking like assholes just to protects Joe's ego and line in the sand. There's also a decent chance of us having to forfeit the game if the SEC demands it gets played and we're the only holdout. I am glad he took a stand--he needed to--I just wish the stand he took allowed us a little flexibility.

Because the SEC will probably have to switch the rules and change the divisional winner by divisional wins.

There is no reason for LSU or Florida to play the game.

Agreed, too many egos involved here. I like playing Florida , hell I like LSU beating Florida and I agree , Joe could have easily said we have a home game with South Alabama and we will continue to have a home game with South Alabama and when that may be I dont exactly know till Stankey , Foley head and me work this out but we will play South Alabama at home. No need for all these lines in that Sand. Play the damn game and if it takes getting the Sunbelt involved if the SEC brother hood doesn't want to then get them involved. IMO, Ogeron needs this game to prove that he can win on the road with the only other chances coming at Arky and Aggieland.

Forget that, JA did exactly the right thing. He took the same stance Florida did and we offered to accommodate them in Florida for their home game which easily could have been played this past weekend or yesterday.

We too have an obligation to our community and we have promised our community a home game, which is sorely needed for our local economy, which actually HAS been storm ravished, unlike Gainesville which only had a couple of trash cans fall over from the stiff breeze (still love you Les) so if, and I mean if, we can come to amicable terms with South Alabama for Florida or the SEC to buy out their contract then we'll be happy to host Florida on 11/9.

Tick-tock Martha Fockers.

we're not holding out from playing the game.
we're holding out from giving up a home game.

we'll play them.
Florida just needs to figure out a way to get it done without fricking us out of a home game.

if that means kissing UGAs arse to move the cocktail party, so be it.
if that means moving 17 other games all over the country, oh fricking well.

we didn't create the mess and we shouldn't be forced to give up a completely unrelated game because of their bullshite.

we got 4 home games remaining on the docket.

we'll play the lil bitches as long as that number doesn't change.

They already have games scheduled. Why in the world would UF blow up its own plan? This is how they win the east or attempt to.

Yes. I didn't like Joe's wording that was specific to the 19th.

I'm all for not losing a home game. But, Oct 29th should absolutely be a viable option for us in these scenarios.

Also, tRant sucks at reading comprehension.

This place will go ape shite if LSU runs the table and gets left out of the championship game. Everyone will be calling for Alleva's head and asking why he didn't agree to switch the USA game.

It's been posted that the SEC can't frick with LSU's OOC game on 11/19 so JA is using that to rub his nuts on Sankey and Foley. It will take some major concessions by them to make LSU use that date. I might be wrong

There is no game on Oct 29th, and won't be on any other regular season date. You won't see the two unless its Dec 10th.

The SEC office is simply waiting it out like Foley did last week. After Bama beats our arse, it won't matter. That's what they're counting on.

More or less there is nothing the guy can do now, but pray. He better hope the vols beat alabama this week or tennessee fans are not going to be happy.
