I think everyone's expectations are way too high. Under Saban we blew out inferior opponents. If we were better than a team we squashed them, we got use to that! This is not a Nick Saban coached team. for better or WORSE, it is what it is. This team plays just good enough to win. There isn't a person on this board who can tell me that we play to our potential. There isn't a person on this board that can tell me we are improving (offensive line/ play calling)!

The problem is a complacency that comes with 3.5 million a year. See defense exibit A Jamarcus Russell (way more money). This O line does not play hungry, they play without emotion or heart, the way Les Miles coaches.

I want to a coach any coach running around rallying the troops firing up the guys. We are not getting the most out of our players! A team full of 2 and 3 stars playing HUNGRY beats a team loaded with 4 and 5 stars not playing hungry, that's why we are playing to the level of our opponent. Do you remember when Saban showed the guys movies? He did that to inspire them, to fire them up, if that didn't work he chewed their as_ on the sideline if they didn't play hungry! We have lost that passion, that fire, that sense of purpose and I put that squarely on the shoulders of LES MILES

Could not have said it better myself Les's lack luster deminer is how this team plays. There is no urgency in this team. They just kinda go out there and play. Saban was known for getting in his players asses when they screwwed up. Les just says it will be okay well get em next time

I am mad, any intelligent fan should be. The #4 ranking comes with an expectation, this team(which I love) does not meet that expectation. For 4 Million a year could we get a coach with some passion, some fire, some sense of urgency?

Every time I listen to his T.V. or radio show its the same shite. "We corrected that in practice... we are improving...." Its all BS!

Do we really have to do this?

UAB?
Oregon State?
Troy?

We shouldn't have to be a Nick Saban coached team to dominate the lesser teams that we play. But I agree that a win is a win.

Our expectations are based on our program being consider an elite program...which came from winning two titles this decade. Most, if not all "elite" programs, blow out the teams we have struggled against.

You know that isn't true...don't you?

Up until last year, Miles' teams were MUCH better at stomping a mudhole in teams they were expected to beat.

I'm thinking we're playing to the level of our ability, at least in certain areas. Like our o-line for example.

Lets not forget about UF in 2003. That was the most apathetic game I ever saw LSU play.

You left out:
MTSU in 2001 30-14
The Citadel in 2002 35-10
Kentucky 2002 33-30
Vandy 2004 24-7

In fact, the only season nick had at LSU where th OP's point is valid is 2003 (no surprise) and even that season we struggled a decent ammount with Westren Illinois.

59-13 vs Arizona
35-7 W Illinois
41-6 Miss state
49-10 LA tech
55-24 Ark
That was just 2003 with SABAN

Yea, I didn't even feel like going through the schedule...those were three immediately off the top of my head.

You trot this out as an example of a stomping a team you're suppossed to beat? We won the NC that year, and we beat a DivAA team in our house by 28? We were winning that game 13 nothing at halftime...and the score was 13-7 in the 3rd quarter.

Ok 2004

53-3 Ark State
51-0 Miss State
43-14 Arkansas

Ark beat us last year and we are barely getting by Miss State? Did you watch the game? 30 yards rushing be serious. Are you related to Les MIles?

I don't think GolfPro actually went back and looked through the schedule before he made this point...

As it has been discussed, the only year he can make a point of blowing out opponents is 2003...and even Western Illinois is suspect here.

Miles has way more talent, better facilities, better every thing than Saban did. What the hell good is a # 1 recruiting class if you don;t play them. Do you know how many TD's Trent Richardson has?

Who has Miles blown out? Were you at the Troy State game, or did you leave in the third quarter like everyone else. I was ashamed to be a tiger fan that day. Any you are going to take Mile's back for that. He promoted 2 of his friends to d coordinator and it cost a season!

Are you going to force me to show you the Miles blowouts too? Are you REALLY going to waste my fricking time like that simply because you've got a crush on Napoleon?

No surprise you left out:

- Needing three missed PAT's by OSU to win the game
- A four point win over a first year D-1 school
