Yeah, it was about "who gets to play LSU" because LSU was the only undefeated team left.

Guy on CFB live just said this at the end of the show about the upcoming year's NC.

Was it Herbstreit or Robert Smith?

Serious question, do you think if Ok State had beaten Iowa State that they would have been "better" than Bama? They certainly would have been in the BCS CG in that case.

LOLOLOL.

Awesome.

What is there to get upset about, and why is this a shock to some of you?

ESPN owns the sport now. They can say/do whatever they want.

If I had seen this live I would have either farted my brain out of my ears from seething anger or laughed so hard my colon would have crawled out my butt from fear....

It SHOULD have been #1 LSU vs #2 Okla. State.
If the BCS rules would have TRULY been followed - Okie State's SOS was WAYYYY better than Bama's.
Okie State won their conference title by DESTROYING former #1 Oklahoma, and worst of all....WORST OF ALL............ a small faction of BCS Human Poll Voters and Coaches voted Oklahoma State FIFTH OR SIXTH!!
If just that small group had voted Okie State 2nd or 3rd, Alabama would NOT have been in the Dome on Jan. 9.

1. I'm sure I knew this at the time, and
2. I am accepting the quoted statements as fact

But seeing this written again rubs the scab off the butthurt, and pretty much douces boiling merthiolate on it....

Alabama had as good a team as LSU had last year. They really did. We beat them, barely, at their place, and they beat us pretty bad, albeit not quite at our place.

All that said, don't for one minute think if last year's rolls were reversed, we'd have been in that game on 1/9. I'll not say "that's not fair", because a) its pussified, and b), it doesn't do the pain of being robbed of a national championship justice. I've just got to think though that our players feel the same way, and will right that wrong this year.

And as a fan of CFB, I still say that's the way it SHOULD have been. LSU loses to Bama, fails to win the west and SEC...

Sugar Bowl Bound. And I would have been thrilled.

That was what is best for the sport.

Now we have this "eyeball test" crap to put up with forever. CFB, as long as it is owned by ESPN, is fricked. End. Of. Story.

Herbstreit has made comments about if we could have gotten to see a Bama-USC title game as if that were another option. Losing by 21 or 28 points to a crappy ASU team and being on probation doesn't matter.

Appreciate it man.

I'm not trying to be an arse to anyone, I just don't understand why LSU fans would focus on this negative crap. Frick ESPN. They want ratings, and have figured somewhere along the line that dogging LSU gets them ratings. When I read posts like this, it comes off to me like ESPN is taunting our fan base. Just quit watching it outside of the games. I did over a decade ago.

Yeah, all that money ESPN is paying the SEC is really screwing it up.

Did LSU get hosed having to play Bama again? Absolutley. Should OK State have gotten in based on merit? sure. Was the rematch orchestarted by suits at ESPN? Nope and if you believe it was, you should go back and hide in your mother;s basement.

When the possibility of a 4 team playoff including only conference winners has been discussed on the MSB, the majority of posters, including most LSU fans strongly opposed the idea.

Of course he did.

LA has a few more viewers than La.

Here's another shock for you:

Had LSU won on 1/9, all Herby and Mussburger would have talked about after the game would have been USC. While LSU would have hoisted the trophy, they would have stated:

"There's a team out in LA that would have a stake in this claim". Just like they've done every year since 2003.

That would have pissed LSU fans off more bc ESPN would NOT have wanted to recognize the best season in the history of the sport. Their other media darling, Bama, spared them from this fate and for this, they are forever grateful.

Quit watching. Mute the TV. Laugh at these threads. Love LSU. It's easy to do.

H-Town, I enjoy your posts. I really do. You and I disagree on this.

First off, my mother doesn't have a basement.

Second, the fact that so many voters DROPPED OSU after beating a former #1 team that these same voters were sucking off last Sept told me all I needed to know. They were clearly in the tank. Why? What influence?

I'm for a 4 team playoffs of Con Champs. I just don't see it happening. If ESPN has its way, it will be SEC Champ, Maybe one other BCS Con champ (depending on what team it is), and Media Darling Mulligan, Media DArling Mulligan. Wouldn't shock me if they try and force three darlings in it a year, pending their winning the conference first. If they don't, several conference champs will get screwed, a la 2011.

Good day, sir.

ESPN started pushing for a rematch the very night we beat them on 11/5, when there were still major undefeated teams out there. The media drumbeat that Bama was one of the two "best" teams never stopped after that, including having Saban beg for a rematch in prime time. Do you honestly think all of this had no effect on voters, some of whom inexplicably voted Okie as low as 5 or 6, which just so happened to be necessary for Bama to overcome Okie's advantage with the computers?
