Mack Brown and Phil Fulmer won a lot of ball games, and recruited real well. Both won a national championship and Mack even played for another. But then the decline started and we all know the story...

This happens every year after our first loss. Why people are still surprised by this is shocking.

I know that this is the rant, and rational thought is discouraged, but other than delusional diehards that are convinced that we should never lose a game, and should win the NC every year, this year's team was not considered to be an elite team with championship expectations, too young, too many shoes to fill, etc., if anything, I think the "experts" were thinking 2015 could be a good year after the recruiting was done

or at least you think so. but mental processes are deceiving. half glass full or half glass empty thing.

sat. night certainly exposed some problem areas for our team. other than the performance of the OL and OTHER BLOCKERS none of it was a surprise.

it's possible that we are going down the path you say but sat. night did nothing to indicate that imo. we have a bunch of young guys and we had a bad game. believe it or not, it happens.

we have damn good talent. we have damn good coaches. I think the future is bright. laying an egg in ONE GAME doesn't make me feel otherwise.

my only disappointment is our play calling doesn't seem to be working. even the short to medium passes. it seems every play that gets stuffed is caused by the failure of one guy and it's a different guy each time. missed blocks, dropped passes, poor pass accuracy, etc. on the defense, john chavis had a terrible game. he schemed wrong more than normal and Prescott burned us every time he did.

I do think a coach can stay too long at a school and things get static. Even Stoops at OU has only won that one title with all that talent.
