At the end of the day it doesn't matter who is batting behind Deichmann. The strategy right now is don't let that guy beat me.

Next time Mainieri messes up, boy are you gonna get it, PM 2.0

Or, should we call you Liquid Mainieri? (That sounds a little weird).

Protecting deichmann is paramount. It'll get him better pitches to see in the end. Hopefully slaughter or cooked can take over the nine hole because I see no reason to put Watson back at this point.

Bold and Great move by CPM.

I just wonder if he'd have moved him if Coomes wasn't injured?

My impression was that Mainieri wanted Slaughter at first to make up for some of KRob's bad throws to first. Most logical spot for weakest hitter in your lineup is 9. Giving Deichman real protection is just lagniappe.

Yeah, at some point he will likely go 1 for 11 and everyone will wonder why he is hitting 5

I thought it was a great idea and I had even thought about it before the SEC tourney when Beau was struggling. Thought it would be similar to what Torina did moving Bailey Landry behind Jaquish.

The move was precipitated by Coomes's injury. He is getting it x rayed today. I talked to him last night. He hurt it sliding into a base
