A 4 front D-Line with a Marcus Spears and Marquis Hill on the ends and Kyle Williams and Chad Lavalais as your tackles. Bo Davis.. please return us so some semblance of this!

That was the best pure defense I've ever seen LSU have. By the end of the season, they were dominating anyone and everyone.

The 2011 D had more big playmaking ability with Honey Badger, but the 2003 defense was the best to me.

Best defense I’ve seen at LSU, especially Chad Lavalais.

While TM7 and the 2011 defense certainly had big play ability, the 2003 defense scored like 8 TDs that season as well

Corey Webster, Travis Daniel, and Randall** (my bad) Gay isn't a bad set of CBs either

Also one of my favorite players ever was a Freshman that year

Laron Landry

I want the DBs again just like the DL

Tennessee had John Henderson and Albert Haynesworth on the same D line at one point.

2003 was a great defense. 2011 was unbelievable. We were one hard-headed coach away from a national championship.

True. Maybe it just stuck out in my mind more due to Honey Badger seemingly making some huge game-changing play in many of the biggest games. But in 2003, Corey Webster had tons of picks and big plays along with numerous other guys.

Agreed. I was living in Cali at the time so when we played at Arizona I went. My dad and brother met me.

Walking out I remember telling my dad that I’ve never seen an lsu defense that big AND that fast. A National championship was nowhere on my mind, probably from years of mental anguish lol, but damn by years end it felt like if a team ran for 1-2 yards on a play it was a failure.

Wait…what??? Didn’t he play offense? As I recall, he made a pretty phenomenal catch against Kentucky to win the ball game.
