Travis Dickson impressed me to no end. That kid was getting himself wide open all game. From what little you could see, he ran some really good routes and then made effortless catches, secured the ball and got some good yards after catch.

always thought the TE's were under utilized. Always seemed like an easy 5-7 yard gain.

Sure was. And it just goes to show that the secret play book has always been there. It was inhibited by inadequate QB play for four years, then by Oline play the first half of this year. Once the Oline straightened out the capabilities started building - first a downfield passing game between the 20's, second was involving TEs and RBs to work the middle of the field, and third will be red zone passing. During the next two games I think you'll see that last piece of the puzzle.

All I heard from the Rant before the season was that our TE's were garbage. Not shocked it took this long for them get utilized at all.

Nic Jacobs is pretty beastly as well. I know he was suspended and didn't play. But, he was really coming into his own prior to the suspension.

Yes, he was impressive.

I hope this carries over to the next game(s) and into next season.

Wasn't Dickson out with off the field issues early, or am I thinking of someone else?

The reason Mett has started to look like a QB is he has been throwing to the TE's and RB's.Against Ala Mett was 8 for 8 throwing to TE's & RB's for 122yds or 41% of the passing yardage.(that is not counting TD to Clement that was nullified by a penalty)Maybe LSU has finally realized it is not against the law to throw to the TE's and RB's.By throwing to the TE's and RB's, it has opened up the WR's and makes the running game more effective.Let just hope they continue to use the option of throwing to the TE's and RB's.

It was nice to see. I'm still worried about our red zone performance. Not sure what our problem is. If we fix that we are undefeated to this point.

Why have we totally gotten away from using our Tight Ends over the last few years? It's crazy to think that we don't throw to them a few times per game.

No idea why he hasn't been used all year like last game. As previously said, it pulls linebackers out of zone coverage and opens up throwing lanes to receivers. It opens up crossing routes. It makes DC's think twice about blitzing if a tight end is an effective receiver.

Dickson displayed great hands and the ability to catch the ball in traffic, which can be plenty enough to make the offense much more dynamic.

i always thought the qb position was under utilized since the matt flynn days. amazing how spreading the ball around goes hand in hand with good qb play.

I really like the fact that we are throwing to the TEs and RBs
