No... Guice didn't get enough meaningful snaps to compare.

i think he was. LF had a lot of missed yardage as a freshman due to lack of vision. He really cleaned that up going into his soph season. He looked like a different back. Guice last year, was a notch above LF as a runner. He just didnt have the opportunity LF had

No, if Guice would have had more carries, his YPC would have gone down. LF7 was asked to run and pass block in the biggest games and the toughest spots, Guice was not.

No guice mainly was in after Leonard had worn down the defense

Guice has better moves and vision, like a bigger Jamal Charles. Fournette is better every down back in the league though. As far as freshman season, Fournette has less competion, which allowed him to play more. Guice was flashier, but then again those oposing D's were thinking they were about to get a break when Fournette wasn't on the field and they were wrong!

Look at the level of competition. Guice's stats are rather impressive, but he didn't exactly achieve most of his yards against all-world beaters.

Fournette rushed for more than 100 yards against Florida, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame during his rookie campaign. Two of those opponents had phenomenal defenses. Florida was 8th and Ole Miss was 31st in rushing defense in 2014.

Guice's best performances were against Auburn, South Carolina, and Texas A&M. Those opponents were ranked, 81st, 107th, and 109th in rushing defense.

Guice is a very good player, but this narrative from our fan base that he is somehow superior to Fournette is absolutely absurd.

Be grateful we have two great players, but enjoy seeing Fournette while you can. He's one of the all time greats.

Sorry. Pet peeve.

And no, sample size was too small to compare the two. Also,
LF wasn't running behind the best RB in the country as a freshman.

but if you give Guice as many carries he gets 1600 yards as a freshmen

if you give Guice that many carries, he doesn't average 8.5 YPC

Fournette started over 2 senior running backs, one former starting running back, both of whom are playing in the NFL

Jesus man. There's been like 3 or 4 threads in the last few weeks trying to make the argument that Guice is better than LF.

Only LSU fans!!

To answer your question. NO!!!!

Guice got s lot of his yards after LF had already beaten down the defense. There freshmen years aren't even comparable.

And before you get butt hurt Guice is a great back who would start for 13 other SEC teams.
