I think you are missing the point here. This years team could have had the ACC schedule and still would have played close games week in and week out, no matter who the opponent was.
They had the chest/want to play in close games, we were simply not a good team if you take away the home games against Bama and USCe.

Did you forget we actually played Florida and lost? Do you remember when Beckham fumbled after catching the deep ball late in the 4th? Thats when we lost our chance to play in the Sugar Bowl.

Look, I am not trying to be all gloom and doom here...we were fairly inconsistent for the entire season, even when you compare us to A&M (who handled Arkansas and Auburn) and Florida (one bad game by their QB). I just don't get all the people saying we were slam dunks to be the 3rd best team in the SEC.
