What an EPIC fail on Alleva's part. Can't believe he seriously thought this shite was going to work.

Not really. Atleast he cared enough to try to bring back something everyone wants.

This

I knew what they were saying but if I didn't, I would not have been able to make it out. I posted in the other thread that in the post game show, Gordy Rush said if a kid asked what they are saying, to just tell them they are saying "Eat a hotdog on a stick....witch"

Neck is one of the greatest band songs in terms of getting they crowd and players hyped. I remember in high school ?the song got banned because the crowd would all go "talking out the side of your neck BITCH.!" It was the funniest thing to me as a player. Sure its trashy, immature ignorant, blah blah blah. Thats not debatable, the students know it,but can care less. Because its really not that big of a deal. If you cant stand to hear it, dont go to a lsu football game. The student section will still be there loud, proud, trashy and ignorant. Just as majority of college students are. I dont know if i have ever known a student section to be classy and rated G. If you do please point me in that direction

I, for one, am for whatever gets the players and students hyped up. If letting everyone in the stadium and people watching on CBS know that you can suck their tiger d*ck gets them pumped, then so be it.

I had to watch on CBS because I'm in grad school in another state. You couldn't hear it.

Wrong

No, that part's true. On CBS this past weekend while watching the replay, what the students were saying was completely inaudible. It just sounded like chanting.

If you KNEW what they were saying, you could make it out in your mind.

But make no mistake...for much of the stadium exactly what the students are saying is a complete mystery. Again, I'm directly across from them in the lower EU and unless they are doing it while the stadium is really dead, there is no way to know what they're saying unless you are already about to fill in the blanks because you know what's coming. The fact that opposing fans near me have to ask proves this point. Unfortunately I was around a group of A&M guys, and all of them had to ask.

None of this is advocating this ridiculous, childish bullshite, however. While I'm no fan of making a fricking Cameo song some huge tradition, it does seem to get the energy up in the stadium and if we have to ditch that because some kids can't control themselves them it would seem many of them on in attendance for the wrong reasons.

It was loud as hell in the stadium. I was in the southeast endzone and it was clear as day.

haha. I'm with you. Its completely classless but whatever... it's coming from the student section so that makes it okay in my book. Plus it's obvious that STTDB is the reason LSU won that game.

In years past, you could hear STTDB and when students would chant other profanities crystal clear during Oh Wee Oh. Maybe CBS found a way to lower the background noise.

I've heard it once or twice year before last. But they can muffle the microphones. Solution is simple. Turn up the band drown out the student section. Let em have their chant. It's not like we didnt do or say stupid things in public when we first got cut from the leash.

Let the one man in here who never got drunk and yelled profanities at anyone or anything cast the first stone.

Ever since Janet Jackson's boob popped out in the Super Bowl there is no such thing as live t v anymore. Everything is on a tape delay.

I can't stand STTDB. I try arguing with my friends that it's trashy. They just thinks it's cool. I'm like you're fricking retarded.

No one sitting around us on the east side, lower bowl, knew what they were saying. The 70 year old couple begged me to tell them what they were chanting. I finally explained. They gave each other a high five and smiled. Then said that their grandson was in the student section. They were smiling from ear to ear.

The 2nd STTDB was so offbeat.

quote:

most of them weren't there for the inception of neck, when people actually said the neck lyrics, and don't know how the timing of the cheer really goes. Like the 3rd down defense hand clap cheer

quote:

I'm mat at them for not knowing when to sing in the song. There's a break where the trumpets play and they kept on singing over it.

All of this. It pretty much ruined Neck for me. I've been a student since 2008 and it's progressively gotten worse each year starting in 2009. The youngins always gotta frick it up.

Also, the past couple of games, thankfully they changed the 3rd down clap cheer to 2nd down. I've always hated that one because the idiots would be too worried about doing the clap instead of yelling.

Again, I've beaten this argument into the ground. They are drunk 18-20 year olds. You really think they give a shite about being classy?

Depending on the argument, college students are either adults or kids. Depends how it benefits them, I suppose.
