Vertical Passing Game

Hey, I got no gripes about the smashmouth running game when we win in convincing fashion as we did Sat. night. But WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR VERTICAL PASSING OFFENSE? WILL WE EVER SEE QB'S PASS FOR OVER 200 YDS IN A GAME AGAIN UNDER LES MILES? Couldn't the ranters agree that it would be a LITTLE BIT more exciting?

Wanted to add this reality check: Dorothy, this is NOT the 40s anymore. Watching highlights from Matt Flynn against VT in '07 and in the Peach Bowl in '05 against Miami. Just makes me sad.

I hate scoring 40 points against a top 5 team. We started with the ball in their territory 75% of the time. How exactly are you supposed to gain yards with a short field?

From what I understand, what we saw the other night is Les Miles football. I'm not against our RBs. I'm not for NO running attack, but it would be nice to see it mixed in with exciting home run plays downfield or at least some 15-20 yd passes.

my theory has been that our wr's cant get open when our qb's are ready to throw to them. i'm sticking with that until i know better. maybe it's wr coaching? i don't remember gonzo being all that great in that area at florida either. seems their passing attack was dink here, dink there. w/o percy harwin, their passing attack was awful.

We don't have a proven QB who can thread the needle into tight spaces or a proven WR who can go up and make the play when the ball isn't placed perfectly.

Now that is funny. Many dropped passes kept Lee's yardage and passing completion percentage lower than it should have been. Just think if both of the deep balls were caught.

Send Les an angry letter and let him know you are dis-happy.
Say something like "I demand vertical passing!".
Also say "blitz more" we need "the wildcat" and demand the TE be utilized properly.
