Las Vegas-based CG Technology, which operates the sportsbooks at Vegas hotels/casinos Venetian, Cosmopolitan, Palms and M Resort, among others, says LSU is an 8-1 favorite to win this season's SEC football championship.

That places the Tigers in tie with Ole Miss and Tennessee, behind Alabama chosen as the favorite at 5-2. The Crimson Tide are followed by Auburn at 15-4 and Georgia at 5-1.

The rest of the SEC behind LSU/Ole Miss/Tennessee is Arkansas 10-1, Missouri and Mississippi State 12-1, Texas A&M 15-1, Florida 18-1, South Carolina 25-1, Kentucky 75-1 and Vanderbilt 100-1.

Yeeeaaahhhh. It's 8/1 odds. Not 8/1 favorite.

I didn't realize Tennessee is supposed to be respectable this year.

Odds and being a favorite are not the same thing.

Josh Dobbs bruh...dudes legit

They remind me alot in terms of expectations of where I've been with South Carolina. I wouldn't be shocked if they went 7-5 or 10-2. Touch OOC game with OU at home early on should tell us alot

A list gets the point across, and lets people go on about their day, so much quicker:

Alabama 5-2
Auburn 15-4
Georgia at 5-1
LSU/Ole Miss/Tennessee 8-1
Arkansas 10-1
Missouri/Mississippi State 12-1
Texas A&M 15-1
Florida 18-1
South Carolina 25-1
Kentucky 75-1
Vanderbilt 100-1

The east has an easier path per the oddsmakers, but this means nothing for a new year. Vols are getting a lot of hype as is Auburn.
