He was hired, because of his moral character and he used to be an effective wbb hc.

Now, all he wants to do is tell jokes and laugh.

His team underachieved, and he basically told the world they could not win in Cameron Indoor.

The players read and heard his ridiculous commentary.

When will coaches realize, their comments go right to their players.

The Old Man is too tired and LSU would have to pay him 1M, if they'd send him packing.

Our contract makers are beyond unconscionable.

LSU WBB needs a serious infusion of youth and fresh blood.

One coach, Starkey, does all the work and the rest are just like "dead heads." One is pregnant and the other one acts as though he's Louie Farrakhan.

its women's hoops. who cares?

He's one cool guy so I could really give a damn whether or not he wins another game or not.

I was just about to start a similar thread. Van is DONE!! I watched him "mail it in" at the SEC tournament where he barely looked like he gave a crap! Didn't even coach half the time during time outs. The LSU women's program has SERIOUSLY slipped under Van and it's just time to end it before we continue to slide. I hope Alleva gets it together here and gets some new blood in. It's already past time.

This is the 2nd year in a row that the LSU women lose in the 2nd round of the NCAA's. That should now be unacceptable at LSU. There are plenty of great young coaches out there to rebuild the program. The time is now to go out and get one!

I say if we repeat another season like the last two, then can his has next season. This incoming class is the only reason I will moderately defend him. I will not put up much of a case for the guy. he was supposed to bring an offense here, and so far we couldn't be farther from that status

Whoever the coach is won't win without talent at the point guard position. Hughes had a game-high six turnovers. Can't win like that and she has two more years.

I hope that they are a bunch of phenoms like Augustus and Fowles were because Hightower was by far and away the best player on this team and she's now done. If the new recruits aren't ready to compete and contribute in a big way immediately, it's going to be worse next year than it was this year. I don't think that LSU should wait to fire Van, it's pretty clear that he's riding it out at this point. I feel badly for these kids.

I laughed.

The team played above their heads today from what I could tell.

When I watch this team, I see a shortage of players who can step up and make a play. Hightower is a fine player, as is Barrett, but beyond that they did not have much of a supporting cast to go with them. You can't win at this level if you don't have more than two players who can consistently generate points. No one else on the court was an offensive threat. One other player had 11 points tonight, but she was not a go-to kind of player nor is she likely to be in the future without major improvement.

At this point, I am afraid that LSU is headed for the middle or lower part of the SEC unless they can turn things around in terms of the quality of players. I admire Coach Chancellor for what he has done for the sport but I am not sure if he is the person to raise LSU WBB back to its previous level.

Pokey had things rollin', but she couldn't keep her tongue out of the P&G Poonanny.

VC is lucky that (almost) nobody cares about LSU WBB.

You're right about that. Going from final 4's to two straight years of losing in the 2nd round is not the direction that we want to be going. Van just looks apathetic out there and it's time for him to retire. We need somebody with some fire for the game to be coaching our ladies not someone building up their retirement portfolio.
