Great point guard...just not on the big time level. She will do fine at Nicholls and LSU was out of scholarships anyway. They had 3 to give this year and there was no room for her. I think I heard that they would let her walk-on for a year, but she chose to go ahead to Nicholls.

I didn't see the "point" in front of the 5 M.

That guy is notorious for his ridiculous posts about Van and women's basketball. He had a thread once with 3 inaccuracies former players that I and others had to correct him on. I think he is just mad Van didn't give him candy before the game one night.

Van seems like a nice enough guy and I honestly have watched the women play about 35 minutes on tv this year but it doesn't seem like they do much different than when Pokey is here. Its just his style is different. They could never shoot and they play tough D...

LSU only had three scholarships to give. They already have three point guards on the roster........Hughes, Eason, Booze............. and now they're bringing in Kenney, who's more of a combo guard who'll undoubtedly play more at the 2-guard than the point. There's no room for Babin.

Van's teams do seem to have a bad habit of folding down the stretch.

I am a big fan of ALL LSU sports and I wish the AD's office shared my concern about Van just coasting along.

However, with the budget situation, I know that is a pipe dream. Perhaps Van will retire in a couple seasons ... but of course by then the program will have dropped far from being a perennial Final Four power.

I just don't have confidence in Van. But the reality is, we're stuck with him probably for as long as he wants to stay so all I can do is hope for the best.

it doesn't really matter .. women's hoops could win the NC and still lose money in droves ... unless you have a daughter on the team, are 70 years old, or a lesbian, women's basketball is brutally boring .. at least at one time it was a decent fundamental game to watch with passing, pure shooting, etc .. but now .. i think i see fewer missed point blank layups and put backs at a YMCA 5 year league basketball game ... these chicks can't shoot for shite either ..

its a shame those 3 prevented LSU from offering KK....I am of the opinion that she is potentially better PG than all 3

Again, until we have a team that's made up of mostly upperclassmen, rather than freshmen and sophomores, I'll remain patient. I just don't think it's realistic to expect a final four from a team with that much youth on it. They made it to the second round of the NCAA and lost to a team that will probably at least make it to the elite eight...........and had to play that team on its home court............and STILL almost won. Losing sucks..........................but this team has loads of potential for the future.

This is a thoroughly stupid posting. I liked Sue Gunter but with all the talent in the world she had, she could never get them past the hump nor could Chatman, who was REALLY in over her head against Tenn and others.

The raw talent of her players carried the day which is sad, with big Syl, they should have won at least one title. Seimore, well, she cost them that one year where she thought she was Kobe or Lebron, and literally forgot Basketball can be won as a team.

To blame Van, well you obviously know nothing about recruiting or women's basketball in general.

Another stupid comment. It must not be that boring to you - otherwise why are you taking the time to discuss it here. Get a life pal.

He did a lot of that when 15 schools around the country were taking women's hoops seriously ... a number of those runs were in the sub-64 team days -- i.e. win one game against a nobody and you were in the sweet 16 ..
