I was one of Coach O's biggest critics but, you can't help to notice the momentum shifting with this program.

Valentine was cut because his piss poor attitude and lack of effort was counterproductive to the culture change going on.

I like that. You can easily find and replace a talent like Valentine with players who are buying into the program's culture and giving it everything they have to better the school and themselves.

If they aren't, then cut the dead weight!

Hopefully CEO keeps this momentum going into NSD and Spring Ball.

Hold that tiger!

Meh. Miles had him benched and probably would have dismissed him as well. (Not to discredit anything O is trying to build here)

How is this a change in culture? Miles wasn't afraid to dismiss players.

Despite his physical attributes, you are right, OP. He is easily replaced.

What's more difficult to replace is leadership, positivity, and drive to succeed. That's what we need to find more of for this team.

I think everyone seems to be forgetting that Orgeron was a driving force behind Valentine being back on the roster here at all. Orgeron is now just cleaning up a mess he helped create.

You need to improve your reading comprehension skills.

In no way did I imply that kicking a kid off the team is some new change that CEO implemented.

Kick rocks

What? How about you discuss the content of the post instead of dismissing it because it isn't sunny bullshite?

You're saying it's emblematic of a culture change, but it doesn't have anything to do with the new coach? I'm so confused as to what point you're trying to make

Nothing wrong with 2nd chances and trying to help a kid out imo. Dude just wouldn't accept the love.

I thought this was going to happen eventually, but Valentine's Day came early.

I agree, but fixing your own frickups shouldn't be lauded as some grand gesture.

I don't see it originally as a frickup but it's semantics really. I agree with you generally.

CEO wanted him off because he was obviously a slouch and a cancer in the locker room, which completely went against how he envisions his team's attitude and demeanor heading into the future.

Miles has always stuck with his "guys." I cannot say for sure he would kick off Valentine for being lazy and having a bad attitude.

You can only not say that for sure if you ignore that he had already done that exact thing.

Seems Valentine played during the first four games (under Miles)....didn't see the field during last 8 games (under Orgeron) Who wanted him on the team?

Valentine played in the first 4 games under DL coach Orgeron, but not in the last 8 under DL coach Jenkins. Who didn't want him on the team?

I'm not going to sit here an say that Miles wouldn't have kicked him off (obviously he did once already like you guys alluded too) but the final decision to play or not play a player lies with the head coach. If you think O wanted him playing games 1-4 what changed in game 5? If O was making that call prior to becoming CEO then we was definitely making it after.

I get you're trying to create a pissing match here but come on. If you really want to get one started lets discuss why Les never dismissed JJ for displaying the same lazy and arrogant traits that Valentine showed. Now that sir is a long stream of piss.
