He has young children. I really wouldn't be making a joke out of something like this.

I'm glad LSU won't have to put a team against his again any time soon

It's potentially another stroke of luck for the charmed tenure of Les Miles at LSU.

Anyway, best wishes and Godspeed to the Meyer family. That's the only important issue at this time.

Where is the clown who wanted to take my action when he said the over/under on LSU's SEC Championship at 0.5 in the next 10 years?

His remarks came right after the SEC Championship game and rationalization was that LSU could never win an SEC Championship with Meyer at UF and Saban at Bama.

My rationalization was that 10 years is a LONG time and shite HAPPENS.

Not to make light of the situation at ALL....but this is one of those kind of shite HAPPENS things and it took all of 3 weeks.

Why can't Tebow just lay his hands on Meyer's and heal him? Seriously; hope its not too serious!

Tebow regrettably doesn't do heart or brain work... now if Meyer needed an emergency circumcision, that would be another story. Tebow would then lay hands... (oh, the joke possibilities!).

In all seriousness, I wouldn't wish bad health on anyone, and hope he recovers, if only for his family's sake. He fielded some tough teams over the past few years and I wish him the best.

If Les Miles were to resign for a surprise reason such as this, does he get the respect from other fans that CUM is getting from LSU fans? Are other SEC team fans exhaling big and feeling better about their chances at future SEC Championships? I doubt it.

Jesus Christ, Herbstreit just actually compared this to the Kennedy assasination, that 30 years from now we will all remember where we were when we got the news. As gross a statement as I've ever heard in sports reporting, and that's saying a lot.

Saban to UF, book it!...If the price is right, of course.

He was just on TV live (via phone)and said he had just talked with Urban...all of the talk on the internet was overstated and Meyer told him it is a 100% stress related condition. His family and doctors are worried about the way the stress is affecting his health and that's why he's stepping down. Take it for what it's worth.

OK, aside from all the well-wishing, this is pretty good news for LSU. Our permanent rival in the east goes from minor to major rebuilding, clearing the way for Bama and Auburn's permanent rivals to get a little stronger. And MSU loses a decent coach, who was one CJ fingertip away from beating us this year.

I think he's stepping down because he just can't bear the pain of being separated from his boyfriend Tebow.

i have heard it was about family, faith and health.

now i do not believe these all apply, either it is one or maybe two, but the listing of all three tells me there is more to this story.
