shoulda rented those out as pre-game tailgate rooms, etc.

Had you ever snuck in to see those rooms? Very low ceilings with exposed pipes, very small rooms and just would have been more cost effective to tear them down and rebuild if they want to rent out that space than to renovate the rooms.

In principle, this sounds like a good idea. However, considering the security needs of a crowd of 102,321 and the level of comfort expected by the big donors, that will never happen in any of the dorms.

Nobody will pay big dollars for a room that 1) you can't bring anything into without getting it searched, 2) that is really small, 3) that has hall bathrooms, and 4) that you still have to go outside the stadium to get into the game (well, officially).

Cool, but impractical.

Maybe they can use the space to build some much needed modern bathrooms. Oh yeah.

The street level concourse in the south endzone wasn't really a problem on Gameday. It's the upper level concourse in the south endzone that's way too small and a complete clusterfrick.

The street level entry for the upper concourse was a clusterfrick. Not sure if this helps it, but it cant hurt.

Also, an chance they can put TVs near the concession stands that were actually made in this century?

Lived in Room 241 64-66. Worse than heat was the rotting cane juice odor from the nearby Sugar Mill. South Stadium eas considered the most comfortable of Stadium dorms. Rooms were comparable to Old Graham---which is also gone. There were NO air conditioned mens' dorms then.

I friggin hate this argument

The colleges of Social Work and Kinesiology have been housed in the criminally blighted Huey P Long because everytime someone proposes a renovation, the old shitbirds raise a stank

Buildings deteriorate....sorry we are tearing down the place you got your first handy from Mary Jane Rottencrotch but it is time for the next generation to enjoy that space...

Why do you have to limit it to after hours?

If you had lived there..... let history be gone. Why maintain unused facilities like dorm rooms.

other than removing what I'll assume were antiquated dorms, what was the point of clearing out that space?

Rumor has it some confederate statues were hiding in there, and they had to tear them down.

I was there in 85. Got single occupancy in a double room for less than half price. No a/c but it was around from KLSU in east stadium and I had an overnight show. That was a great year.

Anyone have pictures of the inside when they were still in use, or after they became vacant? I've always been curious.

I hope this works. Just signed up for Imgur and uploaded 7 pictures:

Better late than never, but those public eyesores should have been taken out 20 years ago.

While they were at it, the LSUAD should've removed those FEMA Trailer/Cinder Block Outhouse eyesore's on the top of the South EZ as well.
