Saw this from @valleyshook on Twitter. Pretty awesome!

South Dorms completely gone now. SEZ lower concourse now wide open, new bathrooms (last home game/today)

AFTER:

Thanks to TigersOfGeauxld on Page 2.
Some more pics, including bathroom renovation pics. I believe there are a couple before and after pics, unless they are keeping some bathrooms shitty.

Mike's Tiger Cage construction included! (And the old tennis "stadium" construction. Not sure what they are doing there. Last I heard it was going to be the spot for the Sand Volleyball teams. That was a few years ago.)

other than removing what I'll assume were antiquated dorms, what was the point of clearing out that space?

Edit: I asked this question before the updated pics, thanks for the downvotes fellas!

Beer Garden, better traffic flow on gameday, and more space for fans to huddle in the stadium during a thunderstorm/rain delay are just a few things that come to mind.

That would have been a good idea, but I believe they focused on safety as the stadium's capacity expanded. The concourses were/still are too confined for the amount of fans in the stadium.

I lived there in '86-87. Most people I mention that to still can't believe I lived in the stadium. Fun, but hot and cold. Think I registered really late and just sort of got stuck there. Really cheap though.

Edit: If that is "south stadium."

I may have blazed in those a few times back in the day. About 10 years ago.

Yea, they were nasty. I went in some about 2 years ago when the stadium was empty and it was pretty bad. Cool to go in them and see some of the chalk boards still up and some of the things that were on them. Also, some of the old stickers on the wall were neat too.

NEZ is even worse. Those ramps are a panic stampede waiting to happen. I stay in my seat during weather delays.
