Chestnut was all over #4 all game. Obviously #4 made some spectacular plays but I think all in all duce was in position to make plays all game. 4 was just a baller imo. Is he draft eligible?

Our DB’s looked like dwarfs out there. Smurf’s covering nfl receivers.

Burnt toast all night but in his defense he was facing a very good receiver. Coleman to me is a bigger Jamar Chase and with Travis he will be a top draft pick. Coleman with Daniels as his Qb not so much.

Totally agree with the fact that had some nfl caliber receivers. I mean at 1 point, I think in the 2nd quarter, they threw to a frickin giant that is 6’7. Next play I think was #4 diving catch over duce who was all over him. And then next play was #5 on an end around where he threw on the run like only patty Mahomes can do.

I thought his coverage was good.

Balls skills not so much
Luckily we aren’t going against receivers like that every week

Oh yea I agree 100%. But man he was in reach on just about every big catch #4 made for them. #4 was just better. As were they pretty much across the board. But sheesh I think that’s pretty much expected when they have such a veteran team. I mean have y’all looked at their depth chart? Sooooo many juniors/seniors/RS seniors and what not

Rewatching the game. The second quarter TD was a 50/50 ball caught over Major Burns

Never understand how guys at this level can't turn and look for the ball.

Yeah how bout him he got burnt all night. Moral victories i guess is where we are at now. So close . I remember back in the day when LSU had talent at the DB position that could match up to the Julio jones and other teams star receivers but now we lining up guys that would have never sniffed the field a few years back. So frustrating to watch DBU now become DBwho. Can only hope the DB's get better but when you see Sage Ryan starting at corner who is a safety it does not look good.

Chestnut played fine, he’ll be a good db here. That may be the best group of receivers in the country

That wasn’t a 50/50 ball. Burns had no chance to catch it. Maybe it was 50/50 complete/incomplete. Burns did a nice job trying to defend it.

In my opinion LSU DB's were the difference in the game. Couldnt cover combined with poor takling.

I'm actually kind of here with that. They had monster WRs that high point balls, and at some point talent wins out. They were in position and just got outplayed. I'll take that for average DB play, but we need to recruit some serious DB talent.

Why would that not be a 50/50 ball. Burns played off of him, attached himself to Coleman in the end zone, Travis throw it where both players had an opportunity to come down with it. Coleman high pointed the ball and came down with it. The only point I was making relative to the thread was this play was not against Chestnut

Burns got one hand into the vicinity of the ball that the receiver easily had two hands on. That is not 50/50. That is a beautifully thrown ball that gives your receiver a good shot at it, and if it’s not caught it will almost certainly be incomplete. A reception on that play requires a good play by the receiver; an interception on that play requires a fabulous play by the defender. That’s why it’s not 50/50.
