I promise you that is already in this contract.
yeah, the contract is heavy with roster bonuses.

he fails drug test = he gets suspended/cut = no roster bonus

Incentives are: int's, games played, drug tests passed, passes defended, avg punt/kick return yardage, etc.

Those are performance incentives. Remuneration for passing drug tests is just as much a contractoral incentive as interceptions.

Has anyone every seen him play when he's not smoking weed? He may not be the same player when he's all uptight.

Did you read what you quoted?

I was commenting on a guy saying 'it should be guaranteed if he doesn't fail a test'
That's like saying, 'if peyton manning throws for 40 td's his bonus money should be guaranteed'

That money isn't guaranteed, UNLESS he meets the requirements. Hence the term incentive.

Again, come on folks.

Sorry, I failed to see where you included drug test as part of the incentive package.

For reference last years 69th overall pick TJ Graham signed a 4 year deal worth 2.8million that included a $670k signing bonus

im just saying the deals are similar

Revis has made more than enough money to live off and Mathieu hasn't. Not comparible.

Revis will receive an NFL pension based on tenure in the league and Mathieu has to play for 3 years. Not comparible.

If he and his agent agree they are idiots.

If the Cardinal don't stick to their decision, they are bigger idiots. Bet there are few on this board, in spite of their mouths, would give him a guaranteed contract.
Mathieu, like JR, is about out of options.
Show some commitment, then expect the money.

He has no choice in the matter. He can deny it all he wants but no NFL team is going to throw guaranteed money his way.

Some of you only see the worst in people. I realize that he hasn't had a great a track record, but I believe people can change. Let's see how everything plays out.

The Cardinals got the biggest steal in the draft with Tyrann. Its the only team in the NFL where the off the field issues don't matter only his measurables.

So much wrong in this

Well hes had a billion chances and he never changed. Expecting him to change now is border-lining on insanity.

They are said to have him sign a deal with no guaranteed money but guaranteed drug testing.

Good for them.

It was part of the conditions of them drafting him, Tyrann really didn't have a choice

You really think the Cardinals would rather not sign their 3rd round pick than give him guaranteed money like the players who went in the same part of the draft will get?
