I agree with this. I would rathe have Simon as the #2 CB with Mathieu as the #3. This allows us to play man coverage a little better, and Mathieu can blitz off the edge more.

I have no doubt Tyrann could be an all-SEC CB. But I'd rather have him continue in the role he played last year: nickel back / hybrid.

It will be interesting to see if has similar stats this year after SEC coaches have had an offseason to game plan for him. Chavis will have to get creative with how he's used.

He's definitely on his way to being one of my all-time favorite tigers.

ignorance at it's finest. He got beat on a double move on 4th and short with no safety help as a true freshmen. He must be a terrible corner. Ignore the fact he caused more TO's than anyone else in the country as a part time player

quit being a douche...he's a 5'8 CB...I like Simon better and seems to have better cover skills as well as height...

seems like someone else is ignorant...

He caused three or four other interceptions. No stat for that.

Ya, you can see at least 3 in his highlight video

I agree he should stay at the nickel, but A&M had a whole month to prepare for his role and he made them look ridiculous. 2 FF, 1 pick, 1 FR.

Simon played their big receiver better than pp7 did as well.

Mathieu has not yet proven himself to have the versatility that pp7 had. He is an amazing player at #3 CB on the field... and he has made some amazing plays from the corner too, but if we are talking about two CBs on the field in a base 4-3, I think you have to go with Simon and Claiborne.

And Simon had proven himself?

I'd like for Chavis to keep him at nickel and we play Simon as nmber 2 CB. You'd keep your most disruptive player at the playmaker position and have a 6'4 guy who could take fade routes out of the question in goaline situations. I mean he covered Julio and Randle like a blanket.
