Tulane's quit after 7 innings at the Box a few seasons ago.

This must be their thing.

You are right...I think 3 years ago. Wow - it's starting to become a habit.

I used to really look forward to this series, but now its becoming like the football one. Tulane's program has really fallen behind since Maineiri took over.

iirc correctly, the game was in 2009 when dean and schimpf both homered twice in the same inning

Baseball at LSU = 9 innings
Baseball at Tulane = 8 innings

I never heard of a ten run rule in college. To me, Coach Jones quit on his team. While he has done a great job at Tulane, it is time for him to go--and if he is smart, he will.

only problem is if they fire him, who can they realistically get that is better?

If I was Jones, I would realize that it is time to go. As far as who will replace him, it will be a nobody; the Wave isn't what it used to be in baseball.

I can remember Tulane being in the 2005 CWS. I guess that they just never could recover from what Katrina did. Look at UNO these days. I can remember when they were a top flight program.

Tulane didn't quit. Coach Miles and I like to think of it as finishing in 2nd place.

even if Katrina didn't happen Tulane and UNO would be where they are...
