I say true.

the top contender probably being 2011?
2011 was number 1 in defense.
2011 was about number 5 in offense.

2007 was ehh.. 4 in defense?
Maybe 4 in offense?

2016 will be number 3 (at the worst) in defense.
and number 3 (at the worst) in offense.
Currently, I'd guess 2 and 2.

If you want to give equal weighting to special teams, then I'd say 2011 edges out 2016. but Jackson could very well be explosive on ST this year.

So overall.. yes.. probably the best he's ever had.

2011 gets to much disrespect for losing the natty. That team murdered everyone they played besides bama, who had maybe the best D of the past 10 years, and is easily one of the best teams of the decade.

However I hope this squad can surpass them

All depends on QB play and until we have seen a few games played the answer is NO......

Also don't think this D is as talented as the 2011 team......

Ranking first or second or whatever is less an indicator than who you played. I don't recall anyone in the last 50 years who played a schedule (and beat them all) like the 2011 team.

You can make the argument on paper with 18 of 21 returning starters and some junior that had 1st and 2nd round protections I think potentially they can be just as good if not better the talent is there and I'm excited about Arnada

Nice thread title. I opened it because I was curious, then quickly realized it was just a repeat of 53 other threads and a harbinger of 261 more before September 3rd.
