Shep got slammed, ground caused a "fumble", Les got scurred. Rant says Shep is fumble prone.

and we all waited in vain for the glory of the Shep/ Trindon zone read to return....

He lined up in the shotgun in the Vanderbilt game to a huge ovation, ran for about 6 or 7 yards and got absolutely annihilated. Then on the very next play he caught a pass and fumbled. We tried the wildcat play about a half dozen times or so that year. I think the last time was in the Ole Miss game but it got blown up so we never saw it again.

He didn't even make the trip to Seattle in 2009 from what I remember.

He probably would have won at least 2 Heismans, maybe 3, if not for Les...counting RP's 3 and Jenning's 6, that's 12 Heisman's that Les has lost our QB's in 10 years. Pretty astonishing.

Les knew the only way he'd make the NFL is at WR

He brought Craig Loston with him so it wasn't a waste

I remember when they used to line him up as a RB. I was at that Auburn game in 2009 when he ripped open this 69-yard run for his first collegiate TD and I knew we had something special.

I saw him in his first scrimmage take 20-30 snaps and complete a few long passes.

True or false: anyone honestly believe Shep would still be in the NFL as a QB?

No way, would have transitioned to his current role.

Honestly, I agree with this. Les was very loyal to him and did about as much as could with him in the offense.

Shep averaged over 7 YPC from the backfield. Hes always been an exceptional athlete, good to see him making it in the NFL. Few thought he would.

Oh he got tackled hard in an SEC CFB game so let's bench him. (Yeah, like that never happens).
