but we may as well go with the boom or bust option on kickoffs. gamble will either kick it out the end zone or out of bounds.

frick it, give them field position rather than risk the other team taking it to the house against peveto's inept unit or having to squib it to the 40.

Resorting to those onside/squib kick hybrids is humiliating. Especially for a top 5 CFB team. I cannot fathom how far our kicking game has dropped off. Peveto must be an absolute joke of a coach.

P.S. - The SC kicker was booming them out of the endzone every time like it was practice.

i mean, if you use a fricking scholarship on a KICKOFF SPECIALIST, you may as well get the bang for your buck

Think about this. After all the crap going on with our kicking game this year, and being yanked out of games for Gamble, Domingue lined up for the opening kickoff yesterday, and proceeded to kick the ball out of bounds.

I watched him when he came to the sideline and Peveto was smiling and patting him on the helmet, "encouraging" him.

peveto also almost fricked us into a delay of game (i think we ultimately ended up taking the 5 yards anyway) when we tried to draw sc offside by haphazardly sending the kicking team on for what would have been like a 96 yard field goal, saw les look at him like "wtf man?" and he started doing the "my bad, my bad" thing. god damn, to think this guy was a head coach at one point. poor northwestern state

Whatever happened to Kyle Pfau? Is he still on the team?

After the opening kickoff, I saw Miles walk up to Peveto and try to nonchalantly say something to him. Miles was trying to not look like he was calling him out, and Peveto was just smiling and talking and acknowledging while Miles was looking away, talking.

Dude, Peveto was our CO-Defensive Coordinator! He was f*cking running our entire defense.

Yeah, that's the point. Domingue can't reach the endzone, puts everything he has into it and kicks it out of bounds. If that's the strategy, let someone kick who may do that, but will also be able to at least touch the EZ

I'd take a guarantee of the opponent starting on the 25 most of the time with them starting on the 35 [a few times out of ten] vs. a minimum of the 35 and potential for mid-field or worse . . .

Well technically he was co-fricking running our defense

But i would say he was giving a 100% awful effort for his 50% participation in that scheme

You do realize the TD return was a Gamble kick four yards short of the goal line?

Domingue is the one who kicked it out of bounds
