Some others of note:

Brad Boyd: '72-'74 (all SEC in '73)
Greg LaFleu: late 70's
Malcom Scott: '80-'82 (34 catches in '81)
Mitch Andrews: '83-'85 (34 catches in '85)
Brian Kinchen: '84-'87 (all-SEC '86, '87)

We actually had good-to-great TE's at LSU for a long time. It's just within recent years they seem to have disappeared from the O.

Two pages and no Keith Zinger. This thread is a joke.

short term memory for certain, but LaFleur is the obvious choice when you are talking the total package as a tight end. Dude had size, speed, soft hads, etc. played on Shitty LSU Teams and Shitty Cowboy teams.

Not the most talented but honorable mention to Ronnie Haliburton for the 4th down conversion catch to keep the winning drive alive in the Earthquake game.

I'd give votes to Brian Kinchen and Malcolm Scott.

Lafleur and the only one close is royal. If not for injuries it would be Lafleur no questions asked. if it wasnt for the back injury he would have been a stud in the nfl too

Well LSU offenses for a long time haven't utilized the TE position other than glorified blocker.

Brian Kinchen was the last.

I've seen many of the TE's mentioned here and the top 3 for me would be Lafleur, Dickson, and Royal. Dickson was one of the most athletic TE's we've had. It was unfortunate we couldnt utilize him more after Flynn left.

I'm guessing Savoie was about 10 years when Hokie played. Tough little booger.

That he did.

Lot of posters never watched or been to a game pre Nicky.

Wasn't it Tenn in OT. Maybe 2000. It's when we began to know we could be legit.

He didn't get the hype LaFleur did, but Chris Hill could have been really good if his career wasn't cut short with a knee injury. He may have been one that was better in the NFL than he was in college

11:00 mark Robert Royal TD catch in OT.

Also, quite a few highlights of LaFleur and Savoie from the 1996 Peach Bowl.
