I like Jimbo however he is a young up and comer. Learned from the great UM. will bring exciting brand of offense to BR that will close the gates in LA again

Well, LSU is not going to throw all that money on Herman. You could be correct, but we really don't know. Herman should be the top name to keep track of in years to come.

Where are all these crazies coming with the up and coming. We don't need to gamble.

There is already a UH coach that went 13-1 with an unstoppable offense already in the SEC.

not worth the risk. these don't tend to pan out.. but he does look pretty good.. LSU is not in position to have to take this gamble

exactly.. and he brought such an "exciting" offense as well haha

these hot up and comers are not worth the risk if you don't have to resort to it

He has one whole year of track record to go by.

ATM is paying the last up and comer from Houston $6+ million. Ask them how that's been going for them.

Next time you have a thought hold it in till you have to fart then expel it appropriately.

Why so dumb, just because he is not Miles doesn't make him better.

the thing is with these smaller schools.. even though the competition may be pretty equal.. when you have a bright sharp offensive minded coach.. he can scheme ways to dominate this competition.. but when they move up to bigger conferences.. where there are coaches paid a lot more money with better facilities and players.. it's not always so easy to have the same success.

charlie strong is another up and comer who had 2 good season at Louisville, he even beat florida in a bowl game.. but it's still just not translating. i understand texas is a mess, but he's there to rebuild and it's still not looking promising.

you can get a proven NC coach and the recruits are going to continue to flock to your program.. better players make it all the easier..

its a crap shoot. sometimes its about timing. herman is too much of a risk. jimbo's resume is more legit. herman is the big name because he kicked bama's arse with a 3rd string qb. i'd still need to see more of herman before i gave him the keys to lsu. the only other potential candidate that hasnt any questions is patterson.

kelly- attitude, recruiting, system?
fuente- resume? experience? accomplishments?
briles- age? affinity for tx? emphasis on defense?
gruden- get fricking real
well known assistants- not as this point

Yeah. Herman struggled scheming against bigger schools at Ohio state. And yeah...I know the retort. That was Meyers offense. They've looked great this year without Herman, eh?

Chip Kelly.

Urban had a great gameplan against Mich st right? Tried to pound the ball up the middle...state was expecting it...and Ohio didn't/couldn't adjust. Sound familiar?

In a Tom Herman guy 100%

Conducting the train in fact. Hop aboard whoever wants on. No reason to post a bunch of stuff that has already been posted, but he is THE guy.

I would be willing to take this risk. That game against Alabama was eye-opening.

Agreed, but don't mess with the Jimbo love fest.
