I remember watching the 4th qtr of this game on an old Zenith box TV with an antenna at my parents' house.

Heavy snow in the Chicago area knocked out the Direct TV signal, so my dad goes tearing into the basement and hauls up this dusty relic from the 80s I didn't know he still had. The picture was pretty good.

Thanks for the reminder. I just sent that pic to all of my WVU in laws.

First time I ever remember watching Lesean McCoy.

Wannstedt coached one great game in his career. I'm glad he saved it for that night.

One of the best days ever watching CFB. People may not remember, but even after the insane day of games Lsu still needed the late night Hawaii game to flip in Lsu's favor, IIRC.

This is what I recall about that. I was watching that game and when they won I went in my son's room and told him we were going to the 'ship!

I still say it was Karma for what the SEC did to LSU in 2006

We just need to learn our place and stop trying to beat Auburn. The conference has made it perfectly clear that we are to finish no higher than third in the West and they're willing to do whatever they need to in order to ensure that Auburn's #2 spot is safe.

If we'd just stop beating them on the field, they'd have no reason to creatively redefine pass interference or the lack thereof or retroactively change the outcome of a game and never holding clock operators accountable for failing to stop the clock for first downs on 4th quarter game-winning drives.

It's really our fault they they have to do this to us if you really think about it.

He hasn't coached since 2013, but check out what he did in his last gig:

i will never forget that day...absolutely insane not to mention the whole les to michigan thing. we all knew oklahoma was gonna take care of mizzou so wvu was the big one. thank god we played va tech that year(and destroyed them) bc they we wouldntve jumped them if we didnt have the head to head win since they won the acc champ that day and were ranked two spots ahead of us at 5 i think. so many pieces had to fall in place. that year was just ridiculous in itself. the #2 team lost like 6 weeks in a row. there will never be another year like that ever again

yea i remember this so vividly. got waffle house to go and ate it in the lobby in dwntwn ATL watching them play washington. it was actually a really good game IIRC. we needed them to win bc their toughest game was an OT win against LA tech who we also played. back in those days the BCS always took strength of schedule as an important metric in their calculations

You're combining 2003 with 2007. 2003 was the late night Hawaii year.

In 2007 it was Pitt over WV and Oklahoma over Missouri and LSU was in.

yea i remember 03 hawaii too but it was also relevant in 07 bc they were undefeated and their toughest game had been in ot against la tech who we destroyed. with the bcs every little thing couldve mattered. or maybe it really didnt and im just always looking for a reason to pull for somebody haha
