Well you were trying to say he didn't panic because he should have been walked because of a bad call. But the pitch before he swung at a ball outside of the plate and by his eyes. I'm not judging this season off this game.
I'm just saying he didn't do what he was suppose to do nor did he not panic.

LSU loses a baseball game and idiots like the OP react as though their entire family was killed in car wreck.

It's a game, dummy. Don't take it so seriously.

There are at least a dozen programs that have the same resources we do. You have to have a bit of luck to win it all in today's game. We aren't deserved of shite. Quit living off and in love the past

That's the problem, people see 1 lose and freak out. It's baseball you lose some and you win some. I do agree that Paul's offenses need retooling, they need to have a plan at the plate. Last night instead of coming out swinging they should have made him pitch. He had a history of having issues finding the zone and with that zone we had they should have let the pitcher create it. I can almost assure you we would have had many more opportunities to score letting him walk batters then putting the pressure on him.

With pitchers that attack the strike zone you still let them find it before attacking them. Have them practice with 1 swing so they are used to having only one swing. Come up with a plan each game that fits your personnel. He still has time to do this though. It's the first game of the first SEC series on the road they will learn from this. This team is young and it's really tough to put it all together but there really isn't an excuse for the offense.

I expected we'd win 1 of 3 this series, Saturday being out best chance.

What drives me nuts is when out hitters know the pitcher is throwing sliders four feet outside the zone and swing at them anyway. I'd at least like our hitters force the pitcher to throw strikes, get into hitters counts and run up his pitch count.

Make him show you he's going to throw called strikes before going first pitch swinging every at bat.

FTR, this post has nothing to do with CPM.

You are talking to the same people who break their TV when they lose in Madden. There is no way to reason with them.

Yeah I've realized that this season. Unbelievable how many make comments about baseball without having a freaking clue about the game. The worst I've seen is someone saying last night's loss is "unacceptable" lol. Baseball IQ on this board is embarrassingly low.

Guess I have no problem questioning a coach but good lord man can you at least allow the season to unfold a little more. Talented team that has yet to hit it's stride. Point is this club could win it all still inspite of retarded post from morons like you

I'm the idiot? Name a more successful program during your years of concern. You act as if the wheels are falling off the bus. My guess is your insignificant life is too wrapped up in this baseball team to the point you cannot even realize that this program is still
considered one of the best in the country.

Do you think UF should fire O'Sullivan?
looking at the fan support and the facilities at uf, it's clear they just don't place as much emphasis on baseball as lsu does. since that's the case, sullivan gets a longer leash. mainieri isn't getting it done in omaha when it counts which is expected for the top program in the country

In the past decade, 2 HC have won more NC than CPM
since 2009, lsu barely cracks the top 10 in omaha appearances/wins. that should pretty much NEVER be the case

again, a weekend series is not where the problem lies for mainieri

Name a coach who has performed better in the last 10 years.
there are several. do your own homework. and try not to use meaningless stats like

NCAA Regional Champions – 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016
NCAA Tournament National Seeds – 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
Southeastern Conference Champions - 2009, 2012, 2015
SEC Tournament Champions - 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014
SEC Western Division Champions - 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2015
none of this garbage has anything to do with wins in omaha - the only measure of success for elite baseball programs. smoke won more sec games than any other sec coach during his time at lsu. what does that mean? nothing
