The band marched out... Set up huge folded pieces of cardboard, transforming the field into what looked like floodwaters that were exposing only the roofs of homes... In sailed three boats, the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria... Columbus stepped out and declared the place Lake Iowa... The Iowa State people were going ballistic... Can you imagine if they did that today??? It would be the lead story on every single news channel... It would be international news
For frick's sake...it's a SONG. "Here, put this in and push play." DONE! No one is implying any of this crap, or anything close to it, should happen.

Some people disguise complaining about PC because they're actually just assholes.

Yes it all needs to be done, like ASU did for us back in 2005. Pre-game videos, field painted up, and that damn rooster cock-a-doodle all game long. Treat them right- this is their home game.
I love their pregame with Cocky and the opening from 2001(whatever that old arse music is called). And I love Sandstorm. Bring it. Will be fun.

We weren't playing in Wisconsin. It was a home game for LSU
Let's revisit what I said:

I could actually see them doing some stuff like that. Kind of like at the Wisconsin game in Houston last year. It was supposed to be LSU's "home game," and they played the typical pregame videos. Obviously its a different circumstance, but I don't think it would be too hard for them to do something for the SCAR fans.
Huh, reading comprehension.

2001? Oh, you mean Also Sprach Zarathustra that was composed in 1896?
If I only had a dollar for every time an idiot calls one of the 100 most recognizable pieces of classical music (even for people who don't know anything about classical music) the "Theme from 2001."
Having class is very different from being politically correct. The former is real, while the later is usually just for show. Let's show some real class and treat the USC fans that come to TS like LA residents wanted to be treated after Katrina. They deserve it.

Pretty sure most people know it's a classical piece, but for those who aren't as musically inclined as you, it's easier in this day and age to just call it "the theme from 2001." I used to be a music snob and throw a hissy over this too, until I realized it didn't give a shite.

. I think that would be pretty cool and a nice demonstration of pageantry and respect.
In all my travels to away venues in football, basketball, and especially baseball, SC has the nicest, most respectful opposing fanbase in the SEC. If anyone can relate to what they've been through, it's LSU fans after Katrina so we should show some class and mutual respect.

What the hell is PC about it? I think it would be pretty cool if people who were there or watched on tv came away with the understanding of how special a place Tiger Stadium, the Tiger nation and Louisiana in general truly are.
There's nothing PC about being respectful to other folks plight.

In this case, "Theme from 2001" is more accurate, since USC does not play the entire piece, but only the dramatic part that was included in the movie.

Will they put the South Carolina cock in Mike's cage (by himself) and wheel him around the stadium before the game?

There is nothing PC about having compassion, treating people with respect and just doing what is right. You'd think this would make sense to anyone who went through Katrina or any of the other floods that have hit Louisiana.

Be careful, I hope no one suggests putting a badger in Mike's age before the UW game in Green Bay.

A little consideration will go a long way. I agree with you, but lets not put this in a sentence with Katrina. Sure, we understand how much it sucks to have a game moved, but the scale of these events is just not comparable. I feel terrible for those affected, I really do. I know some people that had a little flood damage and had to move out for a week. But 2,000 people didn't just die. They won't be pulling bodies out of houses for 6 months. Entire cities weren't just wiped off the face of the earth. Sorry if that sounds insensitive.
I don't remember people being pulled out of houses in Baton Rouge.
It's very similar to Katrina. It's not exactly tge same, but don't pretend like it has no similarities.

That's not political correctness.
Websters...
Politically Correct: agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people.
It might be overly courteous but we are not taking action so as to avoid offense.
