This is just not true - We sold out the stadium in 2008 THE DAY of a hurricane.. The game was moved to 10a and it was hot as hell but the fans still came. Hurricane ain't the problem.

I'm guessing the rain earlier in the day may have changed some plans
But the weather was perfect come game time
It was hot leading up to game tailgating
But it was a nice breeze in the stadium and I literally had almost entire row to myself

There are no hotel rooms for people coming from out of town. Also, folks digging out from a hurricane have bigger priorities than McNeese or Central Michigan.

People aren't interested in watching rent a win university

That and there are a lot of people that don't like the requirements for entry

It's the vaccine mandate and the wokeism of LSU now. You think people were joking when half of TD said they wouldn't send their kids to LSU now? I love LSU but I'm done supporting them financially until they stop this this horse shite.

There is 1 reason the attendance sucks and it’s that we lost to UCLA and looked like shot against McNeese.

If we win in LA and then beat McNeese by 50, people would have shown up. You lose and then looks like shite, then no one shows up.

That was coming off a MNC, so that's not the greatest example.

2008 was a long time ago. People have just become comfortable watching the games on TV and not dealing with the hassle of going to BR and dealing with all of it.

As someone who as in that stadium in 2008 (my knees were sunburned from just sitting there), I can attest. I just don't go anymore.

Our attendance so far boils down to two main things playing off one another:

-cupcake opponents
-season-opening loss to UCLA

Some are blaming the hurricane and Covid protocols, but those are minor attendance affects. The main issues are opponents and LSU losing to UCLA. If we beat State, Auburn game will be a normal crowd.

Wrong. If LSU had been 2-0 going into Saturday with at least the McNeese win being a bigger blow out the. The stadium woulda been full.

When you lose to UCLA and struggle vs McNeese, people don’t come. Sure the vaccine requirements probably made some people’s decision to not show easier but like I said before, most of those people would have shown up if we put a good product on the field.

The COVID-19 attendance protocol is suffocating the enthusiasm along with the team performance of the first two weeks. It’s time to end the virus restrictions so that whatever enthusiasm that can be generated by improved team performance will result in freely attending games without the leftist tyrannical atmosphere.

I watched part of the Texas A&M/New Mexico game, they have no restrictions. And the crowd looked just as bad as ours.

Remember the Auburn game in 2017, another year where we struggled early? Not close to full. My point is there is not a single reason for the low attendance. If we beat state and have a lot of momentum going into the AU game and the crowd still looks bad, then I’ll be ready to admit the covid stuff is to blame.

Problem is the attendance requirements and quality of play

Regardless of whether or not it’s being enforced there’s a lot of people that said “frick it I’m not jumping through those hoops for that team”

If the requirements weren’t there then the attendance would be higher

If the team was better and the requirements were there then the attendance would be higher

The combo of both is discouraging and makes someone on the fence not want to go

Well we won a NC in 2007 and Gustav was not Ida.

It’s a combination of things, but it’s a lot easier to go to an LSU game then drive home out of a storm than it is to drop your fricked op house for a day and go to a game.

Ida may be somewhat of a reason. But add in the low level opponents, the vaxx, testing requirements, and the vaxxed that are scared of their shadow and the sum total results in low attendance.

It was CMU. Auburn will be ROCKING.
Especially if we get a W against State.
Cooler weather too.
