You cannot enroll in LSU without being eligible to enroll with a transcript from your HS. So how does he get cleared by the NCAA and LSU. If the SEC has a diff transcript than his HS then wouldn't LSU and the NCAA have gotten it from the HS? Wouldn't the HS transcript be the official record?

Something is up, the SEC is looking to screw LSU again. NCAA cleared him so SEC should clear him. If they are holding him up for something other than academics that should be plainly stated. Also the team(s) that filed the complaint should be required to show proof of wrongdoing or academic fraud before they hold up a player already cleared by the NCAA. If they aren't then LSU should file complaints on several freshmen (who are playing) for the team(s) that filed a complaint on Valentine.

The reason for his not being available to play at this point has been given in this thread. Everybody wants a link or whatever, I know, but the reason has already been given, and it isn't some conspiracy.

Have you seen Valentine? Anyone who watched his film knew he had a lot of bad weight to lose before he'd contribute, and he put on more over the summer. Him being held out of games really is a non-issue.

So which of the many reasons given was the correct one then?? What would make us believe that its actually the true reason?

Why allow the SEC to jerk your team around?

We have been taking it dry from Slive and the Gump grad doing the scheduling, which has a much great effect on the season outcome than a freshman DT, why would we wince now.

I think we should have all the answers before accusing anyone of being "beta".

With that said, I wish someone would please inform the fans of what's going on. We desperately need depth at DT!!!

Well, if that's the case, I would enroll in a GED program online and take the class that they were worried about in the transcripts. Would that solve the issue in case the SEC would invalidate a class?

What Redfield said, but I don't really have any way to make you "believe" it. You are either a big conspiracy theorist, or you are more common sense than that and can read thru different ideas and come to a fairly logical conclusion.

This is what I have to believe at this point. Had he come in ready to play and this was still going on, maybe I'd buy some of the conspiracy theories. But instead, he came in grossly overweight. He's practicing with the team and is in classes. At this point, due to his condition, that's the best we could've hoped for. Why push the issue?
This one, that I followed up on. The guy came in not ready to play. I've heard anywhere from 350 lbs to 365 lbs. He needs some Moffit time.

Most rantards aren't happy unless there's a conspiracy. They will continue to come up with all manner of ideas rather than go with the obvious. Nature of the beasts.

I don't know the reason, but he definitely insinuated that a certain SEC school was behind it. Which school it is I don't know. Have heard a few say it was Ole Miss.

We had a little discussion about this earlier, and some of us had heard it was Ms. State, lead by Billy Gonzales, who recruits Florida as well.

I just got on the boards to start a thread about this as well.

I think the thread consensus is that he needs to lay off of the potatoes, then worry about playing. I can't dispute that at all. That said, I would LOVE to know why in the mother fork he's not eligible yet. I mean HOW HARD CAN IT BE. I'd assume that the SEC has an "in house clearing house", no? I'm don't at all understand this process, but I'd think it was someone's job - like their only job - to verify the eligibility of signees. If that is in fact the case, (and I'll preface this by saying I own ZERO tin foil hats), I can't help but think that the location of the recruit subconsciously plays a role in "who's case gets worked first".

What does what red field said have to do with the reasoning behind valentine not being cleared

He's saying they're not going to push the issue over someone that isn't gonna contribute right away. Pick your battles. No sense in battling over this when it yields nothing right now.
