Dennis Dodd wrote this nice article about the plight of former LSU football player Anthony Zehyoue and his family.
quote:

There are options for the Zehyoue family. Political asylum. Last-minute assistance from the government. They have a lawyer. But, really, things are getting desperate.

"We're really concerned," said Anthony Zehyoue, a former LSU defensive end who played on the 2007 national championship team.

The Baton Rouge, La., family has accomplished as much as any of their American counterparts. Dad Anthony Sr., is a teacher with a Ph.D. Anthony Jr. has followed in his footsteps. He is getting his master's in secondary education and currently is student teaching at a local high school. During his spare time, Anthony Jr. helped coach the fifth-grade football team of an LSU staffer.

Another Zehyoue child is a social worker. Two others attended Morehouse University and Southern University.

There are five Zehyoue children, four of them born in their parents' native Liberia. They've stayed here under Temporary Protective Status for almost two decades. TPS is granted to foreign nationals whose countries are at war and/or involved in human rights abuses.

But on March 31 the Zehyoue's visas expire.

Anthony zehyoue is one of the nicest people I know and it would be a shame if he was sent back to Liberia.

We can push trough a stimulus bill that was hasitily created, yet we are going to ship college graduates back to a war-torn country.

Absurd.

thats truly ridiculous and it makes you sick to hear things like this...if something isn't done prior to March 31, I believe some people should seriously speak out on this issue and do what we can to help this family out

Have him go to Mexico, then cross our border in the middle of the night, declare himself a democrat...they'll never send him back.

Just curious, how many of you feel sympathy for the Mexican guy who came here 20 years ago, has worked his entire life without incident with law enforcement, has US citizen children who speak little Spanish in school, has not gotten tex deduction refunds because he is illegal or qualified for SS benefits (or at least not yet) and faces deportation due to some roundup?
