Tim Brando has been one of the main threats against Will Wade along with Dick Vitale, Pete Thamel, and Pat Forde.

What is Tim Brando's relationship to Dale Brown? Tim was in Baton Rouge for the naming of the court and was one of the main voices around the country promoting Dale Brown Court for years.

Tim, Thamel, and Forde have yet to commend Will Wade for the amazing job he's done while in Baton Rouge. Most of us know the reasoning, but was just curious as to Brando's relationship to Brown.

PS I told Brando to boot up on Twitter and he blocked me!

Brando is from Shreveport and worked at WAFB for about 5-6 years in the early/mid 80's. He also called some LSU basketball games for Tigervision during that time. Basically his rise in the sportscasting ranks coincided with Brown's rise as a coach. I'd imagine he got to know Dale very well during that time period and Dale was probably gracious to him in his career ascent.

He was a huge lsu basketball fan in the day. Brown catches a lot of shite but I believe he won almost 20 NCAA trny games, 2 final four (screwed out of third against bobby knight), 3 elite eights, at least, 5 sweet 16. Wade may overtake all of that, but after what, 4 years, he has 2 trny wins himself?

Brando loves him some Brando. I’ll never forget when Buddy D died in 2005, WWL AM had various people call in to share their memories. And Brando spent as much time talking about himself as he did about Buddy D, if not more.

I’ve always thought Brando is a mediocre announcer. Great voice, but annoying personality, not that good on play by play and, apparently, very thin skinned.

Tim was the sports guy at WAFB when we were in the golden age of LSU basketball.

This is 100% a dead on answer. Brando was the main Sports guy for WAFB Channel 9 in Baton Rouge and called the LSU basketball games on Tigervision. When he went to ESPN, he still was the main guy there that would often get the LSU games that ESPN broadcasted.

this first and foremost and always, and he is a prodigious name dropper - perhaps the best of the best in that regard and he loves to drop Dale's name.

But yes he was with Ch. 9 here in the 80's with Dale at his height and I'm sure whatever the beef is between Daddy Dale and WW Dale has let Timmy B. know and Timmy B is going to back his boy.
