I love playing FL. I think we're lucky.
Probably cost LSU a national title in 2006. LSU was the best team in the country at the end of that season. Somehow we sucked it up in the Swamp that year. If Tennessee was our opponent that year instead, we would have met Florida in Atlanta for a national semi-final.

What a bunch of tittie babies. I love that we get to play Florida every year. The teams that have to play Vandy and Kentucky every year are the ones who get hosed.
You know what else is awesome? We get the chance to play in Athens once every 7 years. An LSU player can stay for 4 years and never play Georgia or Tennessee. That's the best.

I honestly don't believe most people that have a problem with the schedule are upset about playing Fla. I like playing UF too, but I also like playing UGA, UT, etc. if I'm lucky, I may get to see those teams twice more in Tiger Stadium IN MY LIFETIME.
They had a chance to do the right thing...keep the traditional rivals and go to nine games.

It really is very simple. IF you think it is good to play Florida every year then that means it is wrong to screw over Alabama as well by not letting them play Florida as often.
There is no argument that makes since. Every year non-divisional opponents is wrong and it is unfair to someone.

Oh I see, you're one of those people who will always accept getting shitted on bc you think it's the honorable thing to do. Seems like you have the inferiority complex if you think LSU doesn't deserve the same scheduling considerations that the other SEC teams get.

You think this is something new? We've always gone years without playing schools. Way before divisions began. If a kid wants to play in Athens so bad, he should probably go to Georgia.

Or the loss at Auburn. But probably propelled us to the game in '07 as well. But more than that, the popularity of that game has greatly improved the LSU brand. We have created one of the greatest rivalries in college football the last 15 years. You need to widen your perspective. It's been a much bigger plus--for both schools--than individual wins and losses in a particular season. Try to see the big picture.

Get rid of the permanent rivalries other than one weekend.
Auburn/bama
Georgia/Florida
Ole miss/miss st
Etc

Or, if you're so in love with Florida maybe you should just go be a Florida fan?

Put forking rivals in the same division if that game is so forking important.
I've being saying since this stared, move Ala & Aub to east and Vandy & Mizzou to the west, hat way Ala v Tenn and Aub v GA occurs every year. Then rotate with no permanent rivalry and all accomodations are met. It's is the SEC, not the Ala Aub league. Also need to move the SEC offices every two years so thatmthw favortiam that has built up for Ala & Aub is over. Have refs live in their HOME state and not allow them to call that states team games. Getting a fair game called in Ala is a complete myth.

You miss the point... I hope. Do you understand that we play ALL other non-divisional opponents far less often because of the stupid non-divisional rival games? To the tune of nearly half as often!!!
You like Florida, someone else like vandy whatever. Rotating would be fair! Permanent opp. is not! Simpl and that isn't up for debate unless you are stupid.

Seriously. You can't have 4 rivals.
You get one rival. That's it. And you play them on the last weekend of the season.
Bama and tennessee are permanent rivals?
Why?

Perma rivals is dumb. Sec needs a shake up.

If there is a game that is so fricking important then put those teams in the same freaking division!!!! Very very simple. And when would be the best time to do this. Duh when you shuffle everything up with the addition of two new teams.

I agree. Ok Alabama, auburn is your rival.
Not Tennessee or lsu or Arkansas.

Playing UF is great and all. Lets look back at 06. Tough loss at gainesville. We beat Arkansas, they go on to get raped by UF. They didnt play UF in the regular season, if we swapped rivals that year, we are in ATL and had a good shot to beat them, then go onto the bcs champiinship. So yeah in some years it doesnt benefit us. If we lose to them thus year in gainesville, that prob wont be a good loss and could put us out if contention of the sec early on.

Who do you move East?
Alabama and Auburn to East, Mizzou and Vandy to the West.
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky
LSU, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Miss. St., Mizzou, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss
All of the "rivalry games" are set and all of the teams except for Florida are in close proximity to each other in the East.
