Basketball is more popular in other parts of the country, but baseball is a lot more popular in this part of the state. Don't talk about no-one cares about baseball when talking about LSU fans.

These baseball fans are cracking me up. Women's basketball gets more national coverage. More people watch the little league World Series than the CWS.

guess you weren't here in the 90s. LSU fans love for baseball makes perfect sense. Baseball is loved in a handful of SEC schools, mostly the SEC west schools. Outside of that baseball isn't liked that much.

It was amazing to see practically every weekend game at the box there would be a line of students 2 hours before the game lining up to get tickets. We lead the nation in attendance every year. Basketball struggles to fill the stands for even SEC games. We may sell out one game this year, and that is probably because people are coming to watch Kentucky not LSU.

It cracks me up that people think baseball is not popular in Baton Rouge.

It's just not nationally relevant. So why care? LSU's 6 baseball national championships are almost as meaningless as its 237 track championships.

You keep making my point. It's irrelevant.

NO ONE is saying this. We know that baseball is vastly popular around here. But, south Louisiana doesn't really matter either.
National relevance or bust.
Football/Basketball or bust.

Who cares if it's national relevant. People love LSU baseball in Baton Rouge, it is a lot more popular in Baton Rouge than basketball. I don't care what people watch on the East Coast, West coast, or mid worst. I care about LSU athletics and what we do. Baseball is loved in South Louisiana, and in the surrounding states.

LSUs 5 in 10 years was one of the most impressive accomplishments in sporting history. But it is no more meaningful than track championships.

You live in a extremely small box, but you're ok with that. So good for you.

your post.

If you said, we should care more about basketball than baseball because it is more nationally relevant. I wouldn't say anything. But you said no one cares about baseball, but you sir are very wrong.

Baseball success will never bring recognition to LSU like football or basketball success would.

No one who matters cares about college baseball. You and I don't matter, as hard as that is for you to believe.

Ok man. "No one" is inaccurate. Call it hyperbole.

My point is, for every American sports fan, maybe 1/30 are die hard college baseball fans. And as you said, they all live in the south with a few being on each coast.

The point is with baseball we are playing with a massive stacked deck cause no one else cares. Basketball wins mean so much more.

Basketball doesn't bring the recognition football does. It doesn't matter, it's still relevant.

So is baseball.
