Tiger Stadium needs 3 things for it to be the best version of itself

First off...no, being a Night Game is not one of them

Think back to all the game that brought out the very best that stadium had to give it had three things in common

1 - The Game Has to mean something
It can't be two 2-7 teams hammering it out with nothing on the line. I don't care if it's an 8pk kickoff vs Florida

2 - There has to be a genuine belief/concern/thought/realization that there is a good chance LSU can actually lose the game
That fear has to create this buzz of excitement that gets people not only to want to go to campus but want to go go the game and bring their best effort

3 - The game has to be close in the 4th Qaurter
Doesnt matter who is winning but the game has to be close at the end

Add in the good weather we're going to have tomorrow and this has the making for a really really good day/evening in Death Valley

I didn't want to like this post, but I did. Dead on accurate. I will add, its badass when the game finishes at night.

LSU can't even stay past the 3rd quarter and you think this brings the best out of the stadium? Don't even try to say the stadium doesn't exit SEC games because yes they do...even close ones sometimes.

LSU fans only show up for maybe 2-3 games a year now if you're lucky.

I'll add one for you: Winning because if they're not winning they're as fairweather as it gets. Since we already lost I wouldn't have much expectation on fans this season.

I disagree about it not having to be a night game. At least in the current times. There is just more energy at night games for whatever reasons. And I think in general more people show up to night games.

2 biggest recent day games that I can think of is 2018 Georgia and 2019 Auburn. Both had great crowds and energy but there was just something missing. Was thinking recently that I wish 2018 Georgia was a night game, would have probably been the most packed and loudest game in the stadium the last decade.

The traffic is a complete nightmare when you leave after game. They need to shut major streets both leaving tiger Stadium for 2 hours.

If this is what we need to enhance the game experience, what a sad lot we are.

I would add: no piped in music.

If you hate this annoyance as much as the majority of Alums and fans, then send an e-mail to Scott Woodward and tell him why you dislike it. (swoodward@lsu.edu)

Why is pre-recorded music even needed at LSU (OR ANY COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME) when there is a large marching band present to play music live?

If you have been in that arena for a big game during the day and another at night. You wouldn’t have made this post.

There is a massive difference.

Y’all keep saying this but nixing it would actually do the opposite. Our student section would leave much sooner if all they had was the band to listen to.

Not knocking the band. But no way Oye Como Va and Jungle Boogie are getting fans on their feet

No disagreement and I think night games definitely add something, it just isn't a pre-requisite for the the experience to be something special. When that place is right, it's the best anywhere and it doesn't have to be at night to be special.

“Now the only thing that beats LSU during the day... Is LSU at night,”

Here’s more:

Get tailgating back to where it was

Let the band play.

Cut out the pipes in music and get back to the traditional chants and band play.

I think back to Florida in 2019.

THAT is Tiger Stadium at its best. Every fan locked in. Every fan taunting Florida with the gator chomp. Every fan on edge, even though we knew we’d ultimately win. Best atmosphere I can remember. And NO ONE left at halftime!
