Who remembers the game when Chris Ford kept playing the replay over and over again on the minitron, and the refs said wait a second we can get this corrected right her....before revoew was even started.

Bama 2000. "The Mooners Game". That was the first time we beat Bama in TS in over 30 years. The North EZ goalpost was knocked down after the win.

Dominic Davis went to field a punt inside our 20, was run into by Bama players, and the ball hit a Bama player, and was downed by Bama. The refs tried giving the ball to Bama. The ball didn't come near to touching Davis, and there should have been a flag for catch interference (The rule was changed later).

Ford played the replay over and over on the South EZ scoreboard where LSU's defensive and Bama's offensive units were huddled. There was a TV timeout on the apparent change of possession. During the timeout, two students came out of the Student Section and ran all the way across the field, and stopped in front of the Bama huddle. They mooned the hell out of them, and the crowd went crazy, and then laughed its arse off as a few very rotund of BR's finest chased them around the field.

Thankfully, the call was reversed, and LSU was awarded the ball at the spot it hit the Bama player. It was the beta version of instant replay in CFB.

I'll never forget that game; it was the last one in TS I've been to.

What really distrubs me about Miles decision to pull him is that he would never pull a reciever due to a dropped pass that results a touchdown, never benches a qb due to shotty play, never beches linemen for false starts. He is overly crititical to dfenesive guys. i see a pattern as to why our offense is soft they are not scared of being benched for lack of performance.

I get where you mean BUT, did you watch this defense last year? I think he is VERY lenient on both sides of the ball.

i dont recall the jumbotron having a shot of the jersey pull. why would it? the camera wouldnt have been focused on hawkins at the time of the pull, and they dont use the CBS feed up there on it

or did i just miss it?

I don't recall the replay showing it, either. There was no way for Miles to know. But benching Hawkins seemed extreme knowing he doesn't do the same thing with all the screw ups on offense.

I wish Miles would shut up about this situation.

"Hey everybody, I have no clue WTF is going on."

-Les Miles in regards to the Chris Hawkins situation

FWIW, I think Hawkins would still be burned without the pull on the jersey.

I was at the game, and there was no replay shot of the cornerback vs. receiver. I was looking to see how he got so wide open. They either didn't show the replay, or the receiver and cornerback weren't in the picture when the pull happened.

The coaches didn't know about the jersey pull????
Then lets hook Doug Moreau up with the coaches. I listen to the radio broadcast while in the stadium. Moreau made immediate reference to Hawkins complaining about being held. Granted.....he then went on to (mildly) criticize Hawkins for complaining and, as I remember it, basically said that Hawkins needed to man up (my words). Then again, ole Dougy was pretty frustrated all night long as me made continual reference to wanting more play-action, rather than having JJ drop straight back.

It was Bama mid-90s i believe.. we recovered a fumble on a punt.. Troy Twillie (i think), holds it up and then sets it back on the ground..then refs were giving it back to bama for some reason until they saw the jumbotron

no... it was long after twillie was gone it was the bama game in 2000 - our first win over them in tiger stadium in over 30 years...

Well, it's not as if Jai Eugene was playing a bad game. I mean, suppose Chavis pulls Hawkins for Eugene, and then realizes it was a mistake, but also sees that Eugene is playing great. Is it fair to Eugene to take him out when he's playing well? Shouldn't you just stick with the hot hand?

They both played well in the game Doc. Hawkins had covered Riley like a blanket on the previous time that flag route was run, and Tebow broke contain and scrambled for a few yards on the play. That's why Riley felt it necessary to take the risk of being flagged to get open. Unfortunately for the Tigers he pulled it off. No pun intended.

Regardless, he needed to Pull Alem for continuing lining up in the heutral zone and his play was almost as detrimental as the touchdown. He is not consistent at all with who he sits.

Jefferson can't complete a forward pass and makes the jobs extremely hard for the OL, he should be sat.

He is not consistent and that is why he has discipline problems with the team.

He pulled Scott for 1 fumble in 2 years.

No consistency at all.

There ya go....pull Alem.

Or you could just tell him "Hey...douchebag. Stop lining up in the frickin' neutral zone!"
