such a great thread...has me in tears...

and my uncle would've absolutely loved this season. he passed away sometime in 2004. he also seriously dug the saints, and never got to be a part of the brees era...after winning the nfc championship and the super bowl, my gramps, dad, me, and a few others in the family visited his grave and left a bottle of his favorite beer on his grave

Steven4bama was a poster on the SEC Rant who passed around Christmas last year...made a lot of friends on the board and IRL, apparently.

He added me on myspace a few years ago back when that was still the rage

I had no idea who he was!

My Mom died the Tuesday before the UF game in 97' and I give her full credit for that win. We buried her that Saturday then got together at my brothers house to watch the best victory I ever could have wished for. I wish she was alive today and able to have experienced this great time in LSU football. I would watch the games with her and she would always worry that her beloved Tigers would lose when thing didn't go just right even in blow-outs. She hated to see them go down, but her loyalty could not be questioned.

I will not cry ... I will not cry ... but you all have me with tears in my eyes.

I personally have not lost anyone close to me that was as big a Tiger fan as my husband, children and myself are ... we're pretty much first generation Tiger fans. My boys were pretty much raised in Tiger Stadium and the daughter is in the process of "learning to like it".

Blessings to all Tiger fans EVERYWHERE, those with us and those not ...

and yes, I do miss Keldar here ... and I know that he's watching. I hope that his family has the purple and gold LSU blanket that I sent to him while he was sick.

My Dad for sure. He was a Wisconsin transplant who lived in LA for 45 years and loved LSU football. Our family lost him July of last year, and I know he would be lovin' this.

Ok here goes. 1971 ABC television. LSU vs. Notre Dame. I am living in MICHIGAN. I am going crazy at the fact that LSU is kickin ND's arse. The FINAL was 28-8. They carried Bert Jones off the field and the crowd was crazy. MY MOTHER said, Son YOU need to be in that rowdy crowd as much as you love college football. I have been an LSU fan ever since. I moved here in 1979 and my 1st game at TS was the USC game. MY mother said .. THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO BE with your spirit. I have NEVER LOOKED BACK... I am an LSU FAN FOREVER... Thanks MOM. I wish you could be sittin next to me come Saturday night. WEEP.

My dad died Oct. 26, 1986. So hes been gone for 25 years. He was more a fan of college football than pro, and that has rubbed off on me, as I am the same way. Back in his day, before ESPN, he listened to games on the radio with John Ferguson. I remember listening to the LSU/ Notre Dame in 1970 with him while we painted our garage. I was 12 years old.

My Grandfather passed last September. For his service, we had the LSU-WVU game on and had an LSU party in his honor. Biggest tiger fan I've ever known. RIP Popee

Colby, Jeremy, LAT, Gimmpy Tiger, Rex's buddy who died from liver failure, and there's probably more that I can't remember from the old "good" Lair.

RIP all of them.

My mother, Betty. She went to the hospital on November 5, 2009. She passed away in January of 2010. So the November 5th date has some significance to me. During football season I would come over to her place what the LSU Football games with her. I know she is looking down at this BIG game in Tuscaloosa on November 5th.
