90 degrees plus at kickoff probably plays a factor.

Price in air conditioned venues is holding up

The issue is going to be season ticket renewal.
Why should I pay $1,450 for two season tickets when there are only 3 home games worth a damn?
You can get tickets in the lower bowl for Auburn for $60 each easy.
You will be able to get tickets for Arkansas and Texas A & M for about that as well.
Lets see - 2 lower bowl season tickets = $1,450
Vs.
Buying the three SEC games separately for about $350-$400.
Hell, if you wanted to do UTC, Troy etc. and make every game, you could have gotten two tickets to ALL home games this year for about $500-$600.
Which would you rather spend? Whats it worth it to you to not have to find the tickets and to sit in the same seats?
You couldn't give away UTC, 'Cuse, or Troy tickets this year.
Its not about making money - its not even really about getting a fair return for games you can't make. Its about the fact that there is very little reason at all to flush money down the toilet for season tickets at this point in time.
LSU has a few ways to combat this -
Bigger OOC home game instead of the Houston/Dallas etc. games. This make the season ticket package more worth while.
Less fleecing of the fans for money for parking, etc.
Better traffic flow post game (good luck with that)
Making a better game day experience (we've gone over this ad naseum)

I always thought that when you bought season tickets you weren't just buying seats to the games, you were supporting the program.

No, you're supporting this coach/AD regime

Had season tickets in 2013 in the north end zone. I was offered free tickets to every home game that year exempt for the A&M game. Total waste of $1000+ (I forgot how much I actually paid)
Since then I have been to almost every home game, including Bama in '14 and '16, either for free, below face value, or by buying single game tickets through LSU.

I agree. As an anecdotal example my dad has had season tickets since I believe the late 1960's. He is pretty sure he is dropping them after this year, and he has several friends contemplating the same. I think LSU administration will be in for a rude awakening when this offseason hits. This is the first time I remember in many years that some of the long time ticket holders have had enough. Even the 90's were fun to go to games despite how the team played. The experience is a fraction of what it was then.

Who else is thinking about giving up their season tickets and start buying from other avenues?
I figured this out two years ago. After the South Stadium expansion, the supply exceeded the demand for all games but Bama. I have been able to buy BETTER tickets to most games for far LESS that owning season tickets.

Guice's tweet that LSU fans should burn their stuff has thousands at home. Wait for the boos when he touches the ball Saturday, they're coming.

This is what people said in 1999, then bitched in 2003 when they had given up their season tickets and couldn't afford them on the secondary market.

I really wish I could sit in the direct sunlight on a 90 degree day for 4 hours, but I can't anymore.

I pay 2500 for 3 tickets. I sit next to a 6 foot 8 guy that can't fit in the cramped south end zone so it's certainly not comfortable for any of us. Certainly not spending that money again.

LSU fans are dumping their tickets like crazy for this game.
Yes they are brother. MY FB feed is littered with tickets for sale. Some are trying to sale over Face to recoup their TAF donation. Good luck with that shite.

"face value" is simply an arbitrary number the LSU AD sets to hit a specific revenue target.
I wish LSU didn't do this. Tickets were easier to sell when they were all the same price. Can't give the non-conference tickets away and can't sell the SEC tickets for the prices LSU deems them to be worth.

That's stupid. If you have enough points for decent seats in TS today you will have enough points to buy season tickets again when the product improves. We have a 100k seat stadium now with no wait list for a few years
2003 We had 10k fewer seats.

Even then you can only deduct a fraction of the fees paid.
Posted on 10/13/17 at 10:53 am to Catman88
And the 2003 season didn't even have all their games on TV like today pushing up demand for tickets with a smaller stadium.
