Are INTs or fumbles by QBs any less detrimental to the team?

wow...just...WOW!!

So, in YOUR world:

Drew Brees
Peyton Manning
Brett Farve
et al

would all be benched because they threw interceptions?

You REALLY think a QB throwing an INT is the same as a RB fumbling?

It's a piss poor approach , if you punish one person for a fumble , you should punish everyone. He punishes running backs for a fumble. It's very inconsistent.

He lets a QB throw numerous bad passes, interceptions, and fumbles. Keeps him in the game. One fumble from Hilliard and he gets benched. So leave a QB in to the point of losing the game , and he takes a stand on one fumble? Just be consistent

So, by your logic, we should have benched Mett vs. Ole Miss last year?

Apparently, it is who is doing the fumbling...AJ, fumbled on 1st possession, came right back out

You don't take a QB out for fumbling in the same way as it would disrupt the flow of the game. Qbs also handle the ball every play, so they are naturally responsible for more TO's

pulling a QB for a turnover is drastically different than pulling a runningback. jesus you people are dumb

Could have sworn that he just lost his job.

Not until 4 drives later, and with JJ he never lost his job until he got suspended and basically got it back once he returned.

I'd say 1 fumble by a running back versus 3+ turnovers by a QB is reasonably comparable.

Saban did the same thing and made them carry a football for a week.

Pretty sure Joe Addai had to do this his freshmen year.

Every QB has games like that. Maybe Les wanted to see how his QB would respond to it.

ummmm...KH27 came back in THIS game after the fumble and had carries.

He was fresh and closed out the game for us, as was expected from him. I would say he was given a chance to redeem himself and succeeded

Did he bench Hill for fumbling in the Ole Miss game last year?

Agreed. I was replying to the poster that said 'if KH27 fumbles he doesn't see the field for 2 games'

And yes, I agree with the approach as it is not only to discipline the player, but gives him some time to realize he needs to prove himself when he gets back in.

I understand, but why did KH sit out and AJ go right back in the game after his fumble? I don't mind the discipline, but it never seems to be handed out evenly...just a thought.

1) They have a history of proving they are legitimate QBs.

2) They are professionals, and thus a different point.

3) Early in his career, Brees was benched for these things.

Again, when it happens 3 times in 4 drives, it is an issue in college football.

I am not simply talking turnovers. When a player is struggling so badly, it is worthwhile to sit them down and let them settle down.

By not doing that, Les and company made things worse on Lee his RS Freshman year. If you remember, JJ only came in once Lee was knocked out of the Ole Miss game, not because he struggled.
