Those who think Jimbo would be a mistake

You're bat shite crazy. 3 first round QBs, 2 of them #1 overall. National title as an OC and a HC, resurrected FSU from the depths of football hell, has put together multiple top 5 recruiting classes without the talent pool that is Louisiana, and is known for having prolific offenses that still maintain a power aspect. Please explain to me how in the hell this guy should not be options 1, 2, and 3.

But but but Les deserves the chance to right the ship.

Like Matthew McConaughey says: Sometimes you have to go back to go forward.
Welcome back Jimbo.

Les had a chance to right the ship THIS YEAR. And failed miserably.

there is always going to be people who either doubt or are negative..
it's ridiculous. if he comes here, it is mostly because he wants to be here.. which says a lot.. unlike other possible guys who might would.
he's as big of a name as you could possibly get, period.. which brings in tremendous recruits and he has tremendous offensive balance.
not just the 3 first round qbs.. he has coached 1 heisman trophy winner, and he has another heisman contender at rb..
bring in the big name, and the current recruiting class that is addressing major needs should be fine.. we are really building something special and with a better coach we will see it all come to fruition.

without the talent pool that is Louisiana

The fact that Jimbo will bring his Florida high school ties is even better. Finna eat

He had 4 first rounders

And it also has FSU, UF, Miami, UCF, and USF. Spreading that talent really thin...not to mention the LSU's of the world also recruit Florida well.

No need to count UCF and USF that's he same as us counting ULL and ULM.
Miami and UF are plenty reason to see why recruiting in LA is an advantage.

4 First round QBs actually

Everything else is pretty true, but FSU was just average in the ACC and weren't really nationally relevant for 4-5 years. Football hell was what DiNardo took LSU out of following Curley Hallman or what he brought us back into before Saban. Jimbo is a great candidate though for all the reasons you mentioned.

He's had that chance.

Florida is watered down because it is picked apart from all the instate schools and surrounding states.

Without Winston, he did very avg in what was the weakest conference for the time period. Chip Kelly a much better option.

I'm for Miles, but I don't think Jimbo would be a mistake if the assumption is that Miles is out. If that's the alternative, it's a pretty good one.

Mistake? I won't be that definitive. I will say I am wary of the baggage he brings. On the field, he may be an improvement. Off the field, I am not so sure.

I see this argument thrown around a lot...
Without Jamies Winston, Jimbo Fisher....
Without Vince Young, Mack Brown...
Without Cam Newton, Gene Chizik...
And while somewhat true; one of the jobs of a Head Coach is to evaluate HS talent, get them to sign to your university, and coach them on how to play CFB...which all those coaches did...its not like those kids were made to go to those schools...those coaches got them there..

Actually, per capita, LA is better. Maybe Jimbo can keep some of the "escapees" that the Gumps get.
